Good Friday Morning

A quite and pleasant Friday morning on the homestead.  Enjoying a mug of coffee and preparing my EDC pair for this day.
The Tribal in Harvest Orange is a favorite to carry.   The other tool offers a AWL that I find useful more so these days. 🙄

What is that knife?  A Queen?  Hmmm.  My old uncle Rob gave me some rusted old pocket knives and a broken old red plastic lantern that he thought I might fix and use.  This old Camillus had no handles on it, so I sat around and made a set out of the lantern.  Not a thing of beauty certainly, but still a very usable and perfectly satisfactory pocket knife.  Best wishes. Gary

Before I even read your post I looked at that and thought "oh, I like those covers".  Even better that you made them yourself. :like:

Big old Rawson Brothers penknife.  Bottom knife is very typical size for a penknife, the Rawson at the top feel huge by comparison. (if you can't tell, it's had a bit of a clean and sharpen since I took the comparison pic ;) )

I appreciate the kind comments about my Uncle Rob's old Camillus and my contribution to the new covers.  I have one other of his old knives somewhere.  I remember it is English and has white covers.  It is a total wreck.  Might try to figure out the maker.  Best wishes. Gary

Awesome work on that knife IMR4198.  It looks great.

Terrific carries as usual.  It was nice to catch up since I've been MIA here lately.  I got so busy with work.

I said I would show you another old relic.  I remember this as being English?  I can't read the writing any more.  Any opinions about origin?  I did say that it was a wreck, right?  Best wishes. Gary

It's definitely plausible, but without a name I can't think of anything that would confirm it.  :-\

I didn't over expect.  I didn't know the old thing had deteriorated so much.  My eyesight too.  Old Uncle didn't take very good care of anything.  His idea of sharpening a knife was scrubbing it back and forth on a piece of concrete.  He had a Kabar jack knife that some boy had given him and it looked so sad that I gave him a new Remington trapper.  Camillus green and yellow.  I saw it about a year later and it looked as bad as his other knives.  My cousin Richard wanted it because he thought it was an antique.  It only looked 75 years old.
There are so many classy knives on this post, that I shouldn't have sent the photo.  But, it didn't cost anything to look, right?  I might find a name if I can get it in a good light.  Not important anyway.  Best wishes. Gary

Nice carries from awl, as usual! :tu: Gary's mystery knife has me curious; hopefully he'll be able to say for sure what stamps it bears.

This one is too good to not carry (at least on occasion).
