GoatDragon, reporting back in!
on:
October 04, 2016, 01:59:31 AM
Around May of last year I stumbled across this message board while researching Swiss Army Knives. At the time, I had no more than an inherited Classic and a couple of Leatherman tools to my name. Soon I came to discover that there was something special in the humble SAK. For a time I explored that interest here on these forums with all of you fine folks. I even went so far as to take the Swiss Army Knight pledge, which ended up meaning a bit more to me than I had expected it to. Over the last year, my collection has grown considerably. Though it is quite modest compared to some of your collections, I am happy with it, given one years time on modest means. I rallied all the troops for a family portrait this morning:
I found something with Swiss Army Knives. In part, it is the mindset of preparedness, and ability to handle any situation one finds themselves in. I enjoy having a capable multitool by my side at all times. And through experience, I have found no better tool to fill that roll than a trusty SAK. I have taken a liking to smaller SAKs in particular as I like having light pockets, and I enjoy finding multiple uses for the same tool. The Cadet in particular, holds a special place at my side. But most of my SAKs and MTs find usage as I stash them in various places like my backpack, car and kitchen.
It has been a little over a year since I last posted here, and I wanted to check back in. There really is no other place on the internet like multitool.org. Hello everyone!
Edit: I am also going to leave this glamor shot I just took of my blue 2015 Cadet here because I can.

Welcome back. What terrific and very true sentiments you relayed. Having a SAK is at the ready just makes sense. While I do love my 58s and my Cadet I still have a soft spot for the big guns, Swisschamp and Champ.
Thanks for sharing your collection.

Solving problems you didn't know you had in the most obscure way possible
"And now, it's time to hand this over to our tame race axe driver. Some say, he can live in the forest for six months at a time without food, and he knows of a secret tribe of only women where he is their God. All we know is, he's call the Styx!" - TazzieRob
