New Zelos Blacktip in Aventurine red.  Quite the unusual color dial.

Very nice!

The G-Shock above wears very comfortably, but back to my 'around the house' default which is unbeatable in that regard, the W217H. It's like I don't even notice I'm wearing a watch until I need to look at it.

Todays EDC. CASIO 108 and an old Ecoline Spartan. The watch almost disappears in use. Sometimes I go to bed and forget I am wearing it.  I wrote Santa for a G-Shock but I heard he was having trouble hiring good elves. Maybe one day. Best wishes. G

Same features, I'm trying to find something about the differences between the two modules (3224 and 3454), but the only one I can see is the backlight. Maybe the display size differs slightly but to check that we'd need them side by side.

The case on the CASIO 108 is 43mm wide.  The lighted portion of the display is 14mm by 20mm.  Measuring seemed easier than shipping my watch to Poland so you could compare.  Best wishes.  Gary

Well, one day I'll take you by surprise, and you WILL fall for that! (Better to choose a watch worth more than the shipping fee across the pond, though.) >:D

So what are the measurements on the nice W217 display?  I'm sure somebody is waiting to learn something.  Best wishes.  G

13 x 20 mm to my eye, I think it's within the measuring error and we can assume they're the same?

I decided not to wait on a solution to the elf labor difficulties. So I figured out that I could probably make my own G-Shock. Ain't it a beauty?  It is a IMR700 with a 3006 module. Works great. Enjoy in an elf free atmosphere. Best wishes. G

I was looking for something in a cabinet.  Batteries, maybe.  I don't remember.  I found an Armitron watch that I didn't know I had.  The battery is dead.  I have a vague memory of owning this watch, I think.  I thought I had an Armitron with a leather band.  This one has an expansion band.  I remember owning an Armitron that went through batteries in just a few months.  Maybe it was this one.  Day, date, white analog dial.  If I had seen this watch on a table at a flea market, I would have sworn I had never seen it before.
Might have to drop a photo here in a day or two.  I seriously doubt the thing would run even if I could find a battery for it.  Best wishes.  G

I think I know why it bothered me, I must have read these reports when researching my W217H stuff before purchase:

The only difference I can notice is that the 218 module 3224 has slightly smaller digits for the time but has slightly larger digits for the day and date where as the 650 module 3454 has slightly larger digits for the time and slightly smaller digits for day and date.
https://www.watchuseek.com/threads/casio-w-218-mod.4929007/ (the much desired pic side by side there!)

These watches all use either the 3224 module, as seen here in the W-215, or the 3454 module, which has the same features but the main timekeeping digits are taller, more like those dreadful digits that you sometimes see from Timex.

Interesting comparison.  Not much difference.  Have to look closely.  There was a big difference in back light.  Then I noticed that one had been converted to a negative display.  That made the difference in appearance, I think.  The back light on my 108 looks like the brighter one.  Lots brighter than the feeble light on my HDC600/IMR700 G-Shock.  It had no light before the new battery installation, but is very faint now.  Well, it works.
Since I said I would post a photo of the mystery Armitron, I feel obligated to follow through.  It takes one of those wee 377 batteries.  I would bet money it will never work again.  Maybe it stopped working the last time I put a battery in it.  Then I put it on a shelf years ago and forgot about it.  The last two sentences are just educated guesses.  I remember liking the Armitron that I owned before (might have been this one) with its only fault being how it ate batteries.  I seem to remember it had a light tan leather strap.  ?????   Best wishes.  G

The Armitron looks pretty good! I'm hoping you will be able to get it up and going again.

I'm wearing one of two watches I own. This one is special to me and, over the last 18 years has only left my wrist for service every ~7 years or when I chop wood (because I'm worried the jostling would be too much for it). I keep it on in the shower, when swimming, for really everything but chopping wood. It was my dad's and when he came to my high school graduation (on a different continent from where he was living) he'd brought me a beautiful Fossil watch, but when I tried it on it didn't fit, so he took the watch off his own wrist and gave it to me and I effectively haven't removed it since. He gave me another one as a gift a few years ago but the pusher popped off and I haven't gotten it serviced yet. When I do, I'll give this B2 to my brother, and wear the other one.

Lovely story.

When it comes to instrument watches like this you can’t beat a Breitling.
