One-hand opening and closing is easier with the right hand on the 130mm New Rangers
and with the left hand on 111mm SAKs
The 111mm OHO left-handed is a beautiful gift for lefties. The liner lock is a simple thing to disengage left-handed. It's actually really un-fun for righties, I'd bet.
Can openers, yup. I do all my can opener testing right handed. I hadn't even considered that but now that i think back, I did TRY can opening left handed, and it was terrible.
Scissors... KIND of right-handed. A really GOOD pair of scissors is as good left handed as right. It all matters about the tolerance of the scissors. the cheaper/worse the scissors, the worse they get lefthanded. I generally have no problem with Leatherman/Victorinox scissors left-handed. When I do tool testing, I score the scissors both left and right handed.
I have held a few plier type MTs where tools dig into your palm if held in one hand and NOT if held in the other, but that's a really random thing. I personally think Swiss Army Knives with corkscrews are more comfortable in the left hand for prolonged use. For Lefthanded users, the corkscrew is not against the palm.
I SEEM to recall the OHO bump on the Wave's blades bites into the hand/palm lefthanded, but it's out in the car, and I'm warm and lazy and don't want to go get it to check right now.
