That looks real nice GG!

I'm not a knife person myself, but I can tell quality when I see it - good score.

I used to come here a lot.

Thanks Dave!   I've been looking for years for the perfect knife and this really is as close as I've come to finding it. The only thing I would change is the pocket clip. I just don't like a single screw for a pocket clip as I don't trust it.

Why aren't you a knife guy?  :D

Well, here in the UK, knives are frowned upon by most, so you never get into the habit of carrying one. I've always had an SAK, we get by with those as they're viewed by many as acceptable.

I did see see Dunc's (old) Sebenza at the UK meet, and it was a lovely thing, but there's no way I'd EDC it, as it would definitely be confiscated if I was stopped.

I used to come here a lot.

Thanks!   Believe it or not it goes for about the same price as a large Sebenza. It runs $400 US...

Is it just a go-faster Sebenza?

Thats a great looking knife, its no Boker, but it is nice (yes I like cheaper blades).  That clip looks to be set into the scales so it will not rotate, correct?

Even if it is, I'd rather have more than 1 screw holding the clip in place. I don't like those big hinge-bolt heads. Takes away from the lines of the whole shebang... but still a very knice knife!  :)

Yes and no... It follows the lines of the Sebenza, but with the addition of a glass breaker it gives the knife its own personality.

Yes.... I think that is why Chris felt that it only needed one screw. I agree that he wanted to keep the lines of the knife as sleek as possible. Only time will tell if this idea holds up or not.

That is lovely mate.  :)

Any chance of a comparison pic with it next to your Sebbie?

It seems odd only seeing the one screw on there (apart from the clip).  :)

Very beautiful knife you have there, this is the one with the ceramic ball in it,do they give you a special tool to open it up,like the sebbe,an as for the single screw on the clip, they have been doing that for over 20 years with no problems.
Any time Chris Reeve upgrades a knife it has to be for the better, hope you really enjoy it,looks like a keeper.

Dunc, yes to both questions. One of the reasons I bought this knife is because you don't need regular maintenance. I'll probably send it in once a year for a factory service. There are a few people already making take down tools, so that shouldn't be a problem. As far as the rubber o-rings go, I think they add grip to the thumb studs and they are just a standard o-ring that you can find at any hardware store.

= tactical Sebbie. CRK has addresed the grippines issue. I would guess the glass breaker is more about an improvised impact weapon.

I gave this baby a antique satin finish and I think it came out pretty good. I left the bead blasting in the grooves and satin finished everything else. Too bad I couldn't take a better picture.  :ahhh

Thanks!   I used a piece of 3M Scotchbrite. I did it by hand sanding in only one direction. It only took me about 1/2 hour from start to finish.
