Bark River Essential with M4 steel. SG I forgot about this knife. It has an convex edge. I've had it for a while but havent used it much. I guess I'll be learning how to sharpen a convex edge sooner than I thought. I'm off to order Bark Rivers sharpening kit from KSF.      :D

Nice Barkie!!!! :2tu:

That was the kit I ordered but I'm wondering if my 10" blades needed a bigger paddle.....   ???

Proably wouldnt hurt to have a larger paddle for the bigger blades. Should be easy enough to make if you can find the leather.

Here's the Broderna-Jonsson Mora that I cleaned up using Grathr's soda technique.  Really proud of this one!!! :tu:

Thanks again bud!!!!  :salute:

Wait?
You have more fixed blades than you could possibly wear out in a lifetime?

Welcome to the club!  :D

Honestly, it feels like any single one would last my lifetime. It's a weird feeling wanting more, but I wouldn't trade it for anything! Maybe more money...

Thanks David!!! I have both the leather and the wood but I'll probably just go another 25-30 bucks for another paddle if I need it. I could make one but with my RA, diminishing returns on projects can come real quick some days.

My friend has got one, it's quite ergonomic, if not a touch on the long side (for my taste, of course). Nice knife! :tu:

As a 20 year old who is no weak lad, I take my health for granted often. I can only imagine the feeling of the vessel not keeping up with the spirit. However, it seems that your spirit (I mean that like, who you are, not like some magical entity) is clearly very strong (reading about Ra, there's no two ways about it. You must be an incredibly strong individual.) and that, is no small thing. Here's to hoping it goes into permanent remission, for someone who certainly deserves it

I realized the only fixed knife besides my kitchen knives is the knife my grandfather got during fighting the Japanese during WW2 in the Pacific.

I like it so well, I may snag one more to put back before they are all gone (I usually wait till they are gone then pay 2X the price).

Just wish I could have gotten my grandfather to talk about the war some and the history of this knife.  Probably a ugly story but history none the less.

I'm sure there is some interesting history there. Sorry you didnt get to learn more from your grandfather. Some men talk about their experiences during war and others are very silent about it. I've known both and repect their feeling and position in both cases.

Love me some moras. I just have to get one with a wood handle. Do they still make the one with the finger guard on the edge side, like the 511?
