That is simply amazing, again I'm stunned by your collection even at long distance
:salute: you  :tu:

Looks like a Puma section in one of the photos?  :pok: How about a close-up please?   :like:

Last page. By the way I have been looking for a sheath for the Frogmesser since I bought it about 30 years ago.If you know of one available that is reasonably priced I would be most interested in acquiring it.

Although this one is NOT a Puma it resembles a model 941(?) very much and was made in Germany by Keystone.

Simply stunning Ray, thanks!  :salute:

Because of my country's German connections 99% of the knives I drooled over when I was a kid were Puma knives in the various gun shops.

The White Hunter was for a very long time my idea of the perfect knife, finally got one about 2 years ago, still love it even if my tastes have changed slightly.

Glad you enjoyed them Gerhard. I have always been partial to German made knives and Puma especially. An interesting story goes with the pre-1964 White Hunter(the top knife in the fixed blade picture).
I saw an ad in a trader paper for a Smith & Wesson Model 28 pistol along with a Puma knife and responded. Went down to see it and the Puma was still in the original wood box with mint sheath. The only problem was the green foam lining had disintegrated but didn't affect the knife of sheath. The asking price for both was $250 which was very reasonable.Happy that I hadn't tried to get him to come down on the price he threw in a bolt action .22 cal rifle.
I sold the Model 28 for $250 to a friend and gave the rifle to a fellow worker for his son who was just starting to get into hunting so I wound up with a mint condition White Hunter for free!
I got a second one later on but the stag wasn't anywhere near as nice as that one.
I also have some really nice German made Olsen knives.

These are some recent additions to my military collection. First is a Kabar Commando 6" bright Blade WW2 and has a surname and number on the rear of the sheath. Next is a Kinfolks Type 1 fighting knife from WW2. It also has a name on the sheath. Second photo is two Vietnam era Conetta's both with oxblood finish handles ,one oxblood sheath, one black.Third pic is a pair of Camillus mk2's. A WW2 Usn and a Vietnam era (62-74) Blade .

Cheers Ray. The number is I think a Navy service number the other is just a name and address.

I've been looking at videos of Sami knives.  What a terrific design and wonderful knife.  I don't recall anyone posting up pics or discussing this lovey knife.

Here was a thread of scandi puukkos where we discussed of those Sami knives. I just can not remember what that thread was named.

I believe you can find out who the knife originally belonged to by the serial number and writing to the Department of Defense. Not sure of the exact procedure but I believe it is possible to do.Also if it is a service number not only will it give the owner of that number but the approximate time of service. My Navy service number was 7 digits (I was in from 1964-1967).Later ones started with a letter and 6 digits. Not sure what the do now.

Thanks Ray, it would be interesting to know. At this stage all I know is that it's a 7 digit 200 series number which could be from WW2 until the change to B series. If it is in fact a Navy number at all.

A US Navy Mk.3
2 USN Mk1 knives made by Pal Cutlery.
2 USN Mk2 knives;one by Pal Cutlery and the other by KA-BAR.

Last batch for now:
An M-1 bayonet by American Fork & Hoe dated 1943. I had it chrome plated.
A bayonet for a Swedish Mauser. Not sure of the age but it is in fine shape.
A German fireman's side knife. Looks like a bayonet but has no mounting provisions.
A Case V-42 reproduction ca. 1992 and an original V-42 with a replaced handle made of plastic. Still searching for the right type of leather to restore it to original condition.

:like: I just received an RH 36 . I won't ever be collecting as many as you have you've certainly been busy. I have been looking at a Case 337Q still deciding. I mainly just get the type of knives I like the look of. I have a Camillus JPK coming. Thanks for showing them.
