Recently i bought this CPM-D2 Millie second hand for 44 dollars as a user.
It had some blade play (fixed it), some discoloration on the blade (left that) and it wasn't quite sharp (fixed that with the Paper Wheels)  :D

I took my shiny new UKPK for a walk today in the Derbyshire Peak District. I'll post some pics on the scenery thread later, but here's my new pride and joy :)

The UKPK is an awesome little knife.  I have the black G10 version and its my office edc knife...no real need for a locker when riding a desk.  Also the wire clip blends into just about whatever you wear so no one notices you even have a knife on you.

But couldn't you get away with a locker anyway? =P

Thus freeing up a UKPK for sale?

I could carry a locker to work if I wished, and have on occasion.  I could sell the UKPK but it would take a good offer since the black G-10 is discontinued and it still has the original box.  Only real cutting its done is some paper, a string or two, and about 3/4's of an inch into my thigh.

I can't imagine UKPK being easy to close one handed given it's made to be hard to close. Just earlier today I used an endura to cut some packaging wrap off a carpet (idiot salesman rolled the price tag in the middle of a 7'x5' carpet) and everything was done under 10 seconds with one hand, probably can't do that with UKPK.

So I'm sticking with lockers.  :D

Once you get used to the action its not that hard to close.  Open with my thumb, or spydie drop, cut what needs cutting, then close with the back of my leg.  Maybe a little slower than some of my lockers, but not by much.  A knife I am really enjoying right now is the Buck Vantage Avid (Thanks GG).  This thing is smooth as glass to open and close.

But why not get a Caly3?  Unless lockers are prohibited where you are of course.

I find it interesting that quite a few people would optionally carry a UKPK despite being able to carry whatever they wished.  I guess it's because I have always seen it as a "make do" kind of a knife as here we have no choice.
I'm back!!

It's one knife I wished I owned but don't yet.  I probably wouldn't buy the Caly sitting side by side
with the UKPN and choice, but that's just personal, there is nothing wrong with a Caly.
I have enough lock back knives and the Ukpk offers a bit of a unique knife designed mostly for a specific
region, is a fine cutter, and comes if I remember in a few different colors.
I'm looking forward to taking another look at one next time I'm in town.  :)

It's a Emerson Super Commander with custom grips by Larry Davidson. Here is a better picture of what the scale material looks like:
