I was just comparing the Victorinox Adventurer (from the 111mm Challenge a couple of months ago) with the Buck 110 LT.  The Adventurer is just a little smaller and lighter, and packs in a few tools - cap lifter, can opener, drivers, awl, toothpick and tweezer.  And the locking main blade is a serious slicer - one of the best you will find.  With the 110 LT, of course, you get a stout blade that is more suitable for heavy usage but is still a fine slicer.  If forced to choose, I would probably carry the 110 LT and pair it with a Super Tinker or Explorer Plus to have a well-rounded carry package. In either case, though, I appreciate that you can get a big, locking blade that is still easy to carry at around 3 ounces.  I like to have a locking blade with me in the unlikely event its needed for emergency usage, rescue, etc.  The 110  LT would excel in that role with its robust countenance and bulletproof lockback design.  And in the U.S., the 110 LT is inexpensive enough to be given away or lost with a minimum of tears.

Buck 110 LT and Victorinox Super Tinker.

Day 29 - had to compare OHT for myself, there is size similarities that I never considered.

The OHT is a chisel grind, yet does well with camp food prep duties.

Yet, I have found via this challenge that the 110 is a great knife.  The LT just received will make future pocket carry much easier.
thank you PN for pointing out with your 111!

If I start and end the day above ground, it is a good day!

Hope yours is as good!

I always eat them with the skin, like most fruits really  :D

DAY 29,
The Good, The Great, The Bad and The Ugly

Good, the delicious cake I had in the morning. Sunday is unhealthy eating day  :D

Great, that the S30V seems to still be able to shave after the challenge with only stropping, no sharpening of the 110 at all

Bad, that Mechy has the same coffee mug that I do and it is apparently part of a whole set of mugs and cups, but he never showed me a pic of his set  :pok:  and I'm still wondering

Ugly, the slow healing of the wound after the 110 poked me in the hand the first week of the challenge   :P

My toys:

MTs: Surge (2x), Skeletool CX, Rebar, Blast, Fuse, Micra, Squirt (3x), Wave, Crunch, Mini, Spirit (2x), Pro Scout, MP700 (2x), Diesel, Powerlock, PowerPlier (2x), PocketPowerPlier, Blacktip , ST6 (2x), 5WR, A100

SAKs: Bantam, Executive, Ambassador, Minichamp, Classic Alox, Champion, Farmer, Explorer, Swisschamp, Golf Tool, Wenger Champ, EVO 52, Pocket Tool Chest

It is awesome to see how some of us on MT.o, who would have never EDC'd a 110, have become quite attached to our 110s.
Not talking about anyone who has carried one though.

I will definitely not be benching my 110 when the challenge is over. It will get pocket timw at least a few times a month(whenever I am carrying a minimal off-day carry [Lm mini and sak explorer]).  :)

I lived in Brooklyn (Bushwick) for 3.5 years(chased a woman up to NYC. Didn't work out) and never figured out anyway to carry that kind of blade. I just carried a Gerber MultuPlier (Pinchy) and a Vic Explorer. Cops never had an issue with those. I think the 110 could get you a night in holding. :ahhh
I wonder if you could find a smaller Buck from the same time period that fits in the blade length guidelines? I'm not a Buck expert, but maybe someone here knows of a good "smaller" Buck 110 style knife.

Day 29:

Back in Montana. Pleasantly greeted with cooler weather and and some light rain. On the drive back from Idaho I was amazed at all the rivers and creeks we passed that were brimming over their banks and flooding low lying areas. Hope this means a green Spring!  :tu:
