Day 24

Wenger 82mm  This is a vintage Wenger 82mm which has a clip point small blade, old style can opener, 4 turn fluted corkscrew, exposed awl and rivets.  The closest picture I found on Sakwiki has a bail, and the owner dated it around 60s, and that same bailed version was featured on catalog in 63.  But by 70s, I no longer see any metal shield offered in the catalog.  Not sure I could date it around 1960s, but that's my best guess.

That is a very nice knife.  :like: :tu:

Day 23

A slightly belated day 23 post, got home form a concert in the wee hours, fell asleep without posting. I carried the Pocket Tool Chest and that's what I removed the wrist band with this morning.
Concert’s have a way of doing that.

Nice knives and uses all!

Day 24

My partner has made a fabric Advent Calendar with pockets to hold chocolates in, so I used the wood saw on the Master Craftsman/Astronaut to trim a dowel to haunt the calendar from to length, sadly the awl could only mark the holes to be drilled - I needed a succession of drill bits to create holes for the cord to go through, and then a counter-sinking bit to clean the holes up. However, Soldier ‘84 came in handy to open up the beeswax tin when I waxed the dowel ready to put in the fabric - must show a picture of the Calendar on the 30th when we hang it up! In the meantime, here’s Soldier ‘84 performing his duty:

Day 24, main task was a repair job for a PS3, unfortunately it was a bust.

Good to hear there were successful project today too. And in hindsight yesterday went fine for me, and it's not like the PlayStation is expensive anymore.

Luckily I've actually another one as backup
I found cheap, so I mostly lost a bit of money and some game saves. And now that it didn't work out I think I'll try the more drastic heating methods when the inspiration hits.

kamakiri Day 24:

I thought this might be a good one for a low-use day:

5020 - Craftsman Apollo 11 - 20th Anniversary version

...Last of the anodized liners:

The change to non-anodized liners appears shortly after these were produced.  I won't go into detail here about the chronology, but it does help identify knives produced immediately before and after this timeframe. Minor and often overlooked details like this help me break down larger, but 'well known' date ranges.
