Day 13 - Used the awl to cut a wider hole in the Bug A Salt's laser pointer.

Made a few sandwiches, cut some elastic on longer socks. Basic stuff.

Seen those in a local store. Do they work? Make a mess?

Wore out thew first one in a tad over a year's use.

It shoots salt. So even if you wing an insect that salt is gonna mess them up. Have obliterated daddy long legs, to where there was no body but the legs were still in the web. Spiders galore. But we get these teeny flies from fruit and other sources, and that is the main reason I got one. Spendy in stores, though cheaper if you order online - even though free shipping is at least a week's wait.

Got the version 3.0 that has more power, and yeah, spiders don't stand a chance. Those tiny flies though. the buggers are hard to hit and may take some time killing one in flight. And you will strengthen the forearm muscles if you go rapid combat mode. And you'll get salt in your hair. Be careful not to get blowback in yout eyes, as that salt can sting, and a slat granule does not feel so good either.

Glance shot my arm once, and yeah, powerful little salt chucker! :ahhh

The newer version 3.0 takes down those huge horse flies, and about anything else you want to hit. Messes up wasps, though wasps cannot be trusted if they swarm. The powerful version has less spread and the slower original versions.
About the only challenge is them small flies. This Bug-A-Salt is a shotgun that shoots salt, though uses a single spring. Was tempted to send the the first one in for repair estimate. The spring catch got worn, and I broke the forearm pump grip during the heat of a battle, so got the newer, more powerful version. And some people use it for BBQ to add more (impacted) salt on the meat.

You'd have to watch some videos. They do work. Do not foll around as can cause skin & eye injury. The first version has a safety that has to be disengaged to shoot. Although one can release the safety while pumping the action. And you can load extra salt by further pumping - and that makes a mess.  :ahhh Is probably why I damaged the spring catch.  :pok: The newer version can only be pumped one, but has a bolt action safety.

Worth it? Well, it does cost too much. Is a trendy red neck bug battler, and can get critters in some hard to reach areas. Spiders don't mess with me much, and they run when they see me. If I don't have it on me, and I see one. I try to trick them but they are incognito when I return ... so I give them something to be scared about!  >:D

Flies, well, they are scared. Don't have as many anymore. Soon as I get the Bug-A-Salt out, poof, they hide. And I go searching for them. It's a great workout if you get in the heat of the battle, though sniping is fun too.

If ya can afford one, get it. If not, you're missing out on a lot of fun. Let the salt fly!  :D  >:D    :tu:  :mn:  :viking:

Corkscrew came in from Amazon, and it included the screw-in small flathead driver too.

Wonder if there's a way to get a lanyard made that has a container to hold the corkscrew inside? Or some way to add a side pouch or corkscrew clip...

Day 14, almost half way there. Is there a forearm mount for a smartphone? There are shots that almost require a third arm/hand.

So... ordered a ceramic cased LED dome light, and it came in today along with the Spirit's corkscrew. Installed the dome light. Went from dull yellow to a decent white light. Is there a lumen app for iPhone? Guessing it's about 200 lumens.

Between work shifts I went out for Chinese. :D Spirit X posing in sauce, and Diced Chicken with extra veggies.

And, Lo Mein. Mix the two together and is like double the dinner.

And later after work, a small bit of inspiration hit me, again. :D I have a Rogue front pocket wallet and had this idea of cutting a small slit in the fold to hold the Spirit corkscrew & mini-screw. And guess what? IT WORKS!!  :o

Simply slide the shaft inside the slit,

and twist it inside. Nice, tight fit. :D

Day 11

Not much use today. While I was opening the curtains this morning, I realized that the curtain holder thingy was loose. The Spirit tightened the screws in no time.

Bonus pic from the morning walk with the dogs in the park.

Day 15 - Cut up tomatoes and onions for sandwiches. Opened a couple of packages with the chisel.

Bought a cheap bottle of wine. Thought it was Sangria, but when I got home it was Shiraz. :drink: Not a fan on dark wine. Sangria is about as dark as I can go. Anyhow, tried out the corkscrew with a fake cork. Can say it took quite a bit of force to pull that bugger out! :ahhh

Trimmed the cork down to reseal the bottle.

Peel a few tangerines to mask the red wine taste... :ahhh

Day 12

Re-organized my tool wall today. Used framing nails to hang the tools, and the Spirit had to pop off some nail heads so I could slide the tools on.

Day 16 - Phone Mount Fusion

Been wanting a phone holder for the car, but mine does not have much room for anything. Had a clip mount for an iPhone SE, and a Scosche phone holder that had a broken mount. So... cut the clip mount down, and roughed up the backing. Then roughed up the phone holder backing, and cemented the two parts together. Will see if the idea works to clamp onto the dash rug.

Note: Was a very rough and rushed idea to use the two saws, files, chisel.

Was trying a GoPro helmet mount on my arm. Did not quite work out as expected. Will have to scrounge up single strap & swivel mount of some sort.
