Day 17
Camillus TL-29 electricians knife; a MTO forum inspired addition...

Love the look of those knives, they're part of my wish list.

Don't let his macho-ness fool you, there is a sensitive side to him as well...

CRK Inkosi Insingo, basically an improved version of 21 with a wharncliffe blade.  I really quite like this iteration of CRK, dual thumbstuds(which btw, I never quite understand why it didn't come as a standard), finger grooves placement and frame lock postition, etc.

Wow! That's probably my CR favorite! Love that blade!

Day 14: Bladeless MP600 Pro Scout with Pocket Clip

This is my latest mod, I finished it last night. This is also my very first Gerber multitool, and it was the gateway drug that got me into this website and into multitools and knives in general. I think I paid $15 for it on eBay. After using it a while, I realized I really needed the large flat driver that the basic model has. First I got rid of the can opener, added the screwdriver and swapped in the plain edged blade from the basic model.  I used it like that for a good long while... then I took the file to the grinder and gave it an edge on the tip, and then finished it on a whetstone. So now I have a gasket scraper blade on the tool. I needed a wood saw as well, so i searched around for some new jigsaw blades, and settled on some milwaukee bi-metal blades. I cut one so it was the maximum length it could fit in the tool, and then painted the cut edges. After a while I realized I always carried a knife, and my girlfriend's can opener sucked, so I swapped the can opener back in and got rid of the plain edged blade I had swapped in.

Then I started collecting other gerber tools, and put a clip on one of them and a Gerber Diesel saw in it, and that became my EDC for a long time. I decided I wasn't going to use any of my other MP600s unless they had pocket clips, so I've slowly been adding clips to all those tools. And it was about time I added one to my original first multitool, so I'll actually carry and use it again!

Thank you for this post!  I read up on your JET-AER G-96, and it was a great story.  My first knife is given by my Grandpa long time ago, and all along I thought it was an imitation of Buck 112, and now I know it was actually modeled after the JET-AER G-96.  What a small world and coincidence! :like: :like: :like:

Day 18:

This is a bit out of the ordinary for me:

This is a Pathfinder, the smaller version of two similar designs, by Treeman Knives.  It is got a 4.25" blade made from 1/4" O-1 tool steel. It is incredibly well made, with superb fit and finish. While it starts out being 1/4" at the spine, the deep hollow grind over a broad blade gives it a keen edge and cutting profile. It came with a high-ride sheath that makes it surprisingly easy to wear, although it is a bit heavy.

I've used this knife a fair bit, but I have to say I think it's a knife I admire more than I love. For me, it is not quite as instinctive to use as some other more traditional knives.

That's quite the handle compared to the blade size. I guess it provides more control/precision hence the name  :tu:

Curious one this. It looks like to be designed to provide more pressure onto the blade at cutting?  :dunno:
