Day 27 (Happy MultiCulti Day!):

I had to include the delightful Douk Douk in this challenge. This one was given to me by a buddy. I think of it as being the Inox version of an Opinel......

Day 27: Another Elite Force. This is a more usual design for them. Tacticallish looking, stone washed blade and handle. Never used it. The opening is impossible with the thumb studs alone and the flipper only opens the blade while you push on it. It needs a combination of flipper plus thumb stud to open. Lock is pretty solid, maybe it's a good unexpensive folder fo EDC but couldn't really say...

Slight pity it didn't work as intended, I agree with Nix it got cool lines!

DAY 27

This one may have a few of you stumped as to what it is.

I confess...... no idea..... Fruit knife?  Livestock tool?  Parachutist's self-rescue tool? Grooming device for Fuzzy's hirsute condition?

I am rather hairy at the moment...fuzzy.

Day 27: some SAKs with uncommon tools:
The green one is the Vic Trooper that I already used in this challenge, but I had to include it as uncommon/unusual tools.
The bottom one is a Wenger Golf Pro with special tools for the golfer.
The red nylon Vic is a Watchmaker with the special tool for prying off the back of a watch.

Day 28
The humble Gerber paraframe. Fits my small carney hands like a champ, easy to clean with the open construction. I particularly like the clip point shape of this blade. Sharpens up nicely,  and if you lose it , you've not out 300 odd quid, which is handy if you're getting round many job site like I do . Comes in various sizes also, so every one can have a go at it . Clip also works well and  hasn't loosened after 6 years plus .

It’s not necessarily British army but it is British  :tu:

Some have already guessed and well done   :salute: it is a RAF Aircrew survival knife. It would have come with green canvas sheath that was sewn onto the flight gear and the knife and metal scabbard would have fitted in upside down. To draw the knife you pinched the 2 protruding silver coloured levers to release it

Well, I didn't exactly gave it a chance. With some use, oil and a little tweak in the pivot, it might be easier to use. It's too tactical for my liking, though. I just like it as a colection piece.

Day 27 Tramontina and Ibberson

Nice water sport knives

Day 27
The little Leathermans.
I have no complains about the chisel grind blade on them...

Nice grouping their.  I have a couple of the Style PS that I like when traveling and going into areas where knives aren’t allowed.

The bottom one is a Wenger Golf Pro with special tools for the golfer.

Interesting selection of tools.

Nice Gerber.  Clip point blades are nice.

I know I’m suppose to be looking at the SAK, but I can’t help but notice the beer.  Am I reading correctly that Amstel has a non-alcoholic radler?

Nice SAK.  I never tried a Handyman, but fully agree on appreciation for inline phillips.

DAY 27
Gerber Freeman Guide.  This is one bargain knife that is so comfy in the hand, I really wish they would make another with a bit thicker spine of better grade and G10 or Micarta scales.  (A leather sheath on that would be really cool as well).  So far I've only used this to cut food when camping.  If I ever do make my own one day, I'm using this as a template.

I can see where the improvements you mention could make that one really nice knife, especially with the nice looking blade and comfortable handle

Return of the Fuzzaxe Day 27

It's been a lovely warm brooding atmospheric day here, but threatening rain (and indeed thunder and lightning) at any moment. So, took the opportunity to make and furnish Fuzzaxe with a new short Ash handle. I'd attempted one a while back with some Hazel, but halfway through realised it wasn't nearly seasoned enough so gave up. This time I used a length of well seasoned Ash with a beautiful uniform grain... Just need to oil it now.

Nice axe.  The head looks like it has seen some definite use.

It is a nice looking knife, so shame that it doesn’t really work at opening the way you’d expect.

It still caused a discussion once at the airport security in London Heathrow  :dunno:

Day27
I have someplace to be...someplace I must dress up.
My normal edc is out.
I briefly concidered boot carrying but decided not to

So the choice between 3 leathermans with outside knives plus the minichamp on my necklace.

Surge
Rev
Skeletool

I went pocket carry Surge
I used to be a lot of things, and someday will again.
But for now I'm just a lost jack of trades with neither mastery nor home. ~NoaIsumi

Personally, the ZT562Ti is in many ways a better 'XM' than the XM itself.  Much, much better flipping action, and no jimping at weird places to shred your hand.

Day 27

Seeing that you mentioned the ZT0562Ti, here is mine.  This is at the larger limit of folders for me but it is a nice knife.  Solid and overbuilt like ZTs are known to be, with nice flipping action and good in the hand.

I think the ZT0609 is one of the few ZTs that I’ve handled does not feel robust.

Witt does such a nice job on anodizing.

Day 27. Benchmade 556 Mini Griptillian, 154CM PE drop point blade, Grivory handles. Pretty much the regular base model Mini Grip until last year? I think it was when they made a change to S30V as their choice base model steel.  This was purchased from a member here close to a year ago for $50. He'd polished the copper bronze washers, and that, coupled with the AXIS Lock, is a knife that is very smooth to use with either hand. Being left-handed, it is one of my few that is set up for left-hand carry, with the other being the Byrd I posted earlier.

154CM is definitely not S30V, but in my use, I've only had to strop it a few times, and run it over the ceramic once.

I think the mini-grip is a popular edc in large part to its basic no frills utility.
