I had ordered the 5inch Knipex pliers the other day and they arrived today. I was surprised how small and light weight they are. The plan was not to have these for my carry, but rather for the tool box. There are always hard to reach spots somewhere, and these are perfect for those areas.I just checked though, and they fit perfectly into my EDC pouch. So might as well carry them along with the Ranger. Will take some photos tomorrow.
Has anyone considered either a 4LN or 4WR Vise Grip (Petersen, not Irwin)? Either of those or even the larger (but not large) 6LN. Knipex makes a model similar to the 6LN. Has anyone ever tried the Knipex model? I'd like to, but as I already have two of the 6LN Vise Grips, it would be redundant (not that "redundant" has ever stopped any of us!)
I have joined the Cobra XS club. A workmate asked if I got them from a cereal box (Image removed from quote.)

(Image removed from quote.)Here is the new set. In this picture it does not look like the pliers fit in the pouch, but it works pretty well
History repeats itself. We went from pliers and SAK, to multi-tool, to pliers and SAK. If only Victorinox brought back the Practical Toolset!https://forum.multitool.org/index.php?topic=32382.0Pic stolen from Chako (Image removed from quote.)
... they look great Rob Do you mind posting a comparison pic of it fully open compared to Wave, Crunch, Spirit pliers or similar?
Thanks a million Rob !That's exactly what I wanted to see ...or maybe not...'because I want one now
....If you want them you'll find a way to convince and justify to yourself...
It's amazing what a serious application of "man-maths" can achieve ....
