The... NUMPTIES!
on: September 19, 2020, 09:53:51 PM
numpty
noun [ C ] UK informal
UK  /ˈnʌmp.ti/ US  /ˈnʌmp.ti/

a stupid or silly person:
He looked a right numpty standing there in his pants.

I've got a (hopefully) rather nice knife coming from the States, sent via USPS. It did arrive in the UK... briefly.

Well...I have found that shipping during these Covid 19 times to be a right gamble at the best of times. I have seen such errors posted on several of my online purchases. One particular package arrived on the East coast, then jumped over me to arrive on the West coast, than proceeded to takes its merry time arriving to my door by what I reckon to be a relay team of runners.

I hope in your case this is a simple input error and you shall receive your package.

Lets just hope it doesn't take as long as it took to mail a package to New Zealand from Canada.  :o

I just had a toy fire truck arrive in North Dakota (it was shipped to another collector whom I know well, and had a much larger amount of stuff he'd traded with the guy in Russia for) from Russia earlier this week--I'd bought it from the guy on May 13. That was 4 months. Aieee!  Not to mention, it cost the guy in ND close to $200 to mail his side of the trade to Russia. This is part of the reason I haven't ordered a load of Tomica from Japan as I always do about this time of year.

I'm a little curious as to why it arrived in London and got sent back? Reminds me of the time I had a Vic OC Electrician take extended time to get to my local PO (which already ticked me off), only to show up, and instead of getting delivered that day, got sent back to SoCal, only to be sent back to the Bluefield post office and get delivered. Took it two and a half weeks when it should have taken to more than four days!

I was wondering that as well.  Did some dozy employee at the sorting office look at the wrong address?

I came home today to something of a surprise. I ordered metal 3d printer bed adjustment wheels with upgraded springs from China back sometime in April/May. The arrival date was supposed to be June 2nd. Got it in today...September 21st!

Never give up hope.

America? It's in the continent of North America which is in the Northern Hemisphere between the Atlantic Ocean to the East and the Pacific Ocean to the West. Between Mexico to the South and Canada to the North.  ::)

I've recently received a couple of packages for goods I ordered (and paid for) back in May.  Having received refunds I now have to re-pay.  I'm convinced that there is a big pile of "held" parcels sitting in an AusPost warehouse somewhere, and every now and then an employee goes to the pile and picks a package at random and puts it back in the active system so it gets delivered.

That actually sounds very plausible. Maybe it is a commonwealth thing...because I swear Canada Post does the same.

Sounds very likely if you ask me  ::)
I recently purchased some items from two very well respected members here  :hatsoff:

Both reside across the pond (not Canada) The first took about two weeks and the second took four weeks.

There appears to be no ryhme or reason. Both were declared as described and Customs duties were paid  :dunno:

I can't catch a break
