But let Nix decide on this, he made the rules.

I agree with you, Ron. I think this challenge is being run with standard 111mm 30-day challenge rules.

The convention is to use your challenge tool as much as possible. If another tool is required....say scissors....specify in your daily post that your challenge tool fell short and an alternative tool was used. And post of a photo of the deficient 111mm for that day.....and every day....

I think this concept is fun in so far as it gives us awl a chance to assess whether or not a tool might have shortcomings that may be relevant to us as well. If I need scissors for some task but don't have them on a Trekker.....it might be good for other participants to be aware that the lack of scissors is a potential weakness in the Trekker's armamentarium.

However, this concept could be taken too far: typically we don't mention the fact that we used a toothbrush to clean our teeth because our Ti scaled Trekker doesn't have a toothpick. You guys are still brushing and flossing during the challenge.....aren't you?!  :dwts:

There is no need to specify that you used a fork at dinner. We assume that you are resorting to the appropriate tableware to eat your meals. Of course, in Fuzzbucket's case, we assume he's just using his bowl and hands. So, if he were to use a fork or chopsticks or spoon, we'd like to hear about that novelty.  :tu:

Play on!   :tu:

Thanks!  I just wish he’d offer them with a pocket clip option.

I've never been a fan of pocket clips.....so for me....they are phantastic!    :tu:

Day 4

4PM, no uses yet today.

The Hunter XT has an unusual set of tools. Most notably it lacks the opener layer, and an awl.
That's a nice SAK that I want to put in my (very small) collection. Still relutant about it, I must admit.

The lack of openning layer is a shortcoming, but I see the Hunter XT as a great cutting tool. It can handle with a variety of materials.

Day 4

More snow here this morning.  Hunter at the ready as I do a bit of shoveling.  For the record, pizza for breakfast is amazing...

Day 4. I did toy with the idea of using the saw to cut up some potatoes but that would just be silly wouldn't it so in the end the belt cutter got the job. I should probably have peeled them with it but hindsights a wonderful thing

111mm Day 04:

If there's one thing I really do miss is the small blade, I actually use the small blade 90% of the time on a 91mm, unless something is food related.

:iagree: It's crazy how useful the small blade is in real life.  For me, its absence is a major flaw of both the Compact as well as the 111 mm models.
