Day 7

(Image removed from quote.)

Is opening the paper sachet holding a teabag with the Raptor overkill?

You know... 20something years ago, I decided to EDC trauma shears for a bit.  They had a notch to work as an oxygen key, which I decided would make a good anything-key. Maybe I was young, and not as sure of myself... If I recall correctly, what finally stopped that nonsense was when I happened to be at a Backyard barbecue hosted by a family friend who was a doctor.  I yanked out the shears from my back pocket for something and got one seriously sideways look.

I was going to joke, "Why open the bottle when there's already a glass of beer sitting there?" It wasn't a great joke, but I was thinking about it.

Then I got distracted by how amazing that glass is, and all attempts at humour escaped me. Where on Earth did you find that thing? It's great!

The cheap readers I have stashed everywhere need frequent screw tightening. The precision flat driver on the Wenger Air Traveler works great...even on these Phillips head screws.

HI Jofra
It was in  touristy gift shop in a little town called Pahia up the north end of New Zealand. Scared to use it too often in case I break it.

Day 10
Not a lot of tool use today, but the YeoCho did help open a bottle of Coke and cut some paracord for putting a lanyard on a firesteel.

Hey, at least you had Coke bottles to keep your tools from getting bored. All mine is in cans.

Every once in awhile janky little tourist shops have something surprisingly good — or at least really, really funny. Or, in this case, both!

SAKWiki says there was also a Realtree Hardwoods-scaled version of that knife packaged as the Optitool, even though the Optitool was already a separate model. How confusing!

The fine screwdriver is interesting.

I hadn't used any tools all day (well, a few minutes of computer work, but wrong kind of tool!) After Sos24's post about Coke bottles, I decided to record myself prying open a Coke can. What could go wrong?

That wouldn't have stopped me. I would have looked for more opportunities to invoke seriously sideways looks. Because they are really satisfying to behold.

For some reason, my KERT-flies-across-the-room picture disappeared from IMGUR. The editing window is passed, so I'll just repost with the proper image in.

Did so e yard work, but now need for a tool.  The YeoCho helped afterwards by opening some mozzarella sticks and a beer for a snack.

The only tools I used today were kitchen utensils. I ate Kraft Dinner with a spork.

I mean, Kershaw calls it a spork...and it kind of is?

Back to work tomorrow (Easter break is over!), so maybe something weird will come up.

This folding precision screwdriver set is a favorite of mine. I used it today to adjust a coworker’s readers and to open a couple of boxes (cut the tape with the largest flat head).

If thought the Kershaw sporks look interesting, although yours looks like it is missing a gate for the carabiner part.
