Day 6
My wife bought us a new TV, so the YeoCho helped with opening the box, get some plastic wrap, screwing in a couple screws and even some light prying to remove the Roku box from the old.  Thank goodness for the inline phillips, because the can opener would not have fit because the hole was recessed and the backside wouldn’t have had enough clearance to turn.

KERmiT battled the Invasion of the Dino Sours!

Grr! Rarr!

Obviously I could have just torn the bag open by hand. That's what it was designed for! But I felt like goofing around with my one-piece multitool.

Here is a picture of a Farmer X that hasn't been used for seven days.

Not even once!

I worked with a lot of ropes and ratchet straps today. None of those needed slicing, because if you tie good knots, you get to untie good knots.

Occasionally, something will take longer because I don't already have an appropriate tool in my pocket, but all I have to do is take a minute to go grab something.

The weather was windy and rainy today (except when it was windy and sleety or windy and snowy), so at the risk of sounding like a broken record, I put some work into my new bicycle.

I fastened my bell (legally required), greased and installed my trusty SPD pedals (from my other road bike, which will get another set from the parts box),  and threw on some bottle cages (oldies but goodies!) I used the Hexus 2 from my seat bag to do these things, because it has beefier parts than any of my smaller pocket tools.

You can see the 8mm adapter for the pedals coming out the side there. It fits on the 5mm key.

The new bar tape arrived, so I used KERmiT to pry out the bar end plugs, and got to work. I planned to take pictures of the taping...but halfway through, I realized the tape I ordered is absolute trash garbage. I'm not subjecting any poor soul to pictures of that abomination. I'll take photos when my should-have-ordered-it-in-the-first-place Fizik tape arrives in a week or so. I'll need scissors for that, but not a knife blade.

Rice is delicious in basically any form. And, as Mitch Hedberg said, it's great when you're hungry and want to eat 2000 of something.

Okay, on my second read through I figured out you weren't saying the kid was lynched in a cabinet.

Don't worry — your post is fine. I was just having a moment.

Day 9
After Jothra’s posts using his KERmit, I decided I needed to dig mine out and put it to work.

It opened a couple thin boxes and a package of granola.

I still prefer having a knife, but I thing this will be a pretty useful alternative.

I was originally torn between my KERT and a Gerber Shard, but I've been getting a lot more use out of the rescue cutter than I expected.

I used a pair of pliers and a chainsaw file to break the end off of a free 2.5mm hex key.

Knipex Cobra XS and world's cheapest chainsaw file.

Then I used tape to attach it to my Park MT-1.

Regular waste of time, or exceptional waste of time?
