Leatherman Tool Pouch
on: February 17, 2022, 09:17:40 PM
Being a Pouch Groupie, I had to purchase the new Leatherman Tool Pouch.  Here is a sneaky peek:

The Leatherman Tool Pouch is about 6" x 3.5" (160 x 90mm), with slightly padded front and back panels and 7 interior pockets.

This shows a Leatherman Bolster (Costco-only MT), Nightcore Energy Brick (smallest, lightest 10K battery), Aurora A28 light/torch, Victorinox Classic Alox and a Sharpie.  It was about 60% full and could have swallowed more.

I was able to insert a mini FAK as well.

Produced in conjunction with Pacsafe, the Leatherman Tool Pouch is well constructed and appears to be durable.  It has three belt loop/attachment points on the back, in addition to a small "handle" or strap on top for a carbiner or other attachment.  It also sports a small, anti-theft, zipper keeper.  It would work well to keep things organized and secure in a cargo pants pocket or Man Sack.  Just based on a first look, the Leatherman Tool Pouch is Powernoodle Approved.   Each Leatherman Tool Pouch is hand-sewn by Tim Leatherman at his nursing home in Portland, Oregon.  Not really.  It's manufactured in Vietnam - the global center of Pouch excellence.  US$29.95 plus s/h and tax on Leatherman.com.

Nice review! Can you give a rundown of the 7 pocket layout? not been able to spot them all yet.

Thanks powernoodle  :tu:

Leatherman owes you a commission because I will be buying one. Your review makes me think that it (or something like it) will work for me.

Someone on another site posted this.

Two large ones along the back of each flap. Then, one side has two (smaller) pockets after it, while the other has three smaller ones. That’ll get you to seven plus the open middle area.

Thank you for the report!  If I was a pouch guy, I would probably buy it  :tu:

I'm more interested in how well the Nightcore is working.

Great review and pics, pnoodle :woohoo: :like:

I will probably end up with one of these sometime as I like the look of it better and the functionality of it (for me) more than the new leather sheath they just released :tu: :like:

The side with the logo is the "back" side.

Very well.  I cannot tell you about performance because I'm not a high-use guy, but I have used it many times and would not be surprised if the 10K capacity was accurate.  The best part is that it is super thin and light.  But its a little on the spendy side, as you can get 10K from Anker or elsewhere for less $.

I like it quite well. It's on the thin-ish side.  Take a Wingman, remove the scissors, replace the package opener with a tiny serrated blade, and you have a Bolster. The Bolster's blade is plain edge and not a combo like the Wingman. Plus, not many people own a Bolster which makes it sorta cool.  I guess a better description is a Sidekick without the saw.  Duh.

Thanks!! I’ve been meaning to go back to Costco since they ran out. Crazy busy and crazy tired.

I conjure up excuses to go to Costco.  I'm going today for salmon.  In another thread, I recounted how I hoarded 720 rolls of toilet paper from Costco.  Good times.

The pouch looks good, but I must ask one question. Does it have a belt loop, and if so, how high up on the back does it sit?

Three loops, if you can see them.

I dislike sheaths and pouches that stick up above the waistband of my pants. This one wouldn't do that. :woohoo: I'm gonna have to get one. Thanks for the additional picture!

I added one to my last order last week. Hopefully will be back in stock soon. I want to see if it will hold some Knipex and a full sized screwdriver handle.

I recently read a small complaint against the Leatherman Tool Pouch due to it not opening very wide. My one complaint against using a Maxepidition Mini as a wallet is that stuff falls out if you unzip it too much.

Thanks guys

I finally got around to getting the pouch recently. It was not available when I initially went to buy it. Yesterday, I contemplated on how to best use it and realized it would make a better wallet than the Maxpedition Mini, which has served me well.
