Some internet influencer caused me to order some emerald Plus scales for one of my Explorers.  I won't say who it was.

Day 9 bonus action shot:

The mint has been a bit leggy, and the weather has been a bit windy. A broken sprig needed to be cut....which must mean it is julep time...  :D

My carry Explorer also has Emerald plus scales from fleabay. Think like $15.

Explorer and Emerald just seemed a good choice.

you should get a pair

Day 16

Tried the can opener/orange peeler trick. I'm not sure it works any better than just using the blade, but always fun to try a new technique.

Powernoodle Day 9

(Image removed from quote.)
I used the Explorer Plus this morning to open some Shokz bone conduction headphones.  I use them all day, every day.  The copper Zippo makes a fine companion and fidget toy.

I’ve been thinking about trying a pair of bone conduction headphones.

Zippos do have a nice fidget factor to them.  As part of me edc I recently swapped my flashlight to an Acebeam Rider Rx which also has a good fidget factor.

I recommend them.  The nice thing is that your ears remain uncovered for fun stuff like - hearing things.  Shokz are nice but spendy.  I have them on 14 hours a day.

DAY 09

Used small blade on my trusty Huntsman to cut the sleeve out of a rolling machine to install a new one. Used that large blade for my lunch food prep today and cubed up some cheese. Happened to use the awl to clean up my fingernails before a meeting, and it worked great. Used the can opener to pull out the oven rack for a frozen pizza. And I used that large blade again to cut it up.

Once again, it is nice to have what is needed to get through a day in one package.

DAY 09Had a lazy day today. Used the Explorer’s small blade to open a package.
Cleaned the knife up a bit and then took a long nap with the pup.

Day 9

Got in a package today, that required opening with something not so sharp. I went with the awl on my FX. Inside was an early Fathers Day present, a new Warbonnet underquilt for my hammock. If the the weather holds out, I’ll be camping with it in ten days.

I do buddy!  Even when I don't use it for long periods of time, I like having it with me.  The Woodsman is the best of both worlds but tough to find.  I'm thinking about picking up another Marlboro Outdoorsman.  It's a Woodsman that includes a scaler...not a bad thing to have at tea time :)
I'm also a fan of the Outdoorsman. It's in my "gardening season" rotation. As the wood saw and scaler are thin and in the same layer, you get six layers in a the width of a five-layer SAK. Plus the small screwdriver on the back, opposite the saw.

I put yellow Plus scales on mine.

Day 10: Not a heavy duty use, but put the screwdriver to work installing a bird feeder in our backyard.  No trees were harmed in this activity...the bark on this old walnut tree is a couple of inches thick :D
