Spirit MX opens a box of small pouch I recently ordered, the cuben fibre ones are so light, they almost felt like air.
Nice pouches.  Cuben fiber pouches are nice.

Hope the pizza was good.  Domino’s is my goto for national chains, mainly because of their nice deals.

We usually do the 3 topping large for $7.99 (one pizza per person), and then you get free 2 topping mediums from time to time when your points build up.

Day 25
A friend asked to borrow my knife today and I had to ask him "which one?" Whereupon I began to empty my pockets while he stood there, amazed as I placed everything on the table in front of him.  He said it reminded him of the "Leave your weapons here" scene in Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome, and he threatened to start calling me Max.  I'm looking forward to ending this challenge so I can put away at least 3 of these knives.

Day 25

Spent most of the day in a training course, today. I ended up with my MiniChamp becoming a fidget toy, but since I couldn't really interrupt the course by taking loads of photos, I thought I'd show you how I carry it instead...

Having seen how wrecked my LM Squirt PS4 has become while clipped to my keys, I really don't like the idea of the MiniChamp celidor scales being similarly brutalised. I don't wear jeans anyway, though a recent post suggested the watch pocket isn't a good place for the MC either. So I keep mine in my wallet.

I have an old PacSafe Walletsafe 50, which is like really old, from back when Heinnie Haynes were still EE33 Tactical Outfitters (about 2006) or something. PacSafe don't make these any more, and haven't done for quite some time. The plasti-rubber branding has dissolved away and the security chain key-ring wore out earlier this year, but everything else is still in working order. It's got two internal slots for cards or folded notes (bills) and a zipped pocket on the outside for coins. The closest product to this, and I have one ready in case the PacSafe dies) is the Chums Surfshorts.

So, in the card section, I have a modified card with elastic loops to hold the MiniChamp, two flash drives and a USB C to Micro adapter. I simply took a spare plastic card, put some stitch holes in it with a SAK awl, and then stitched a 2" wide elastic strip to make loops, a bit like shell holders on shotgun stocks. The loops don't need to be desperately tight as the card itself sits inside the wallet, and simply wrapping the elastic over the item you want to hold results in enough tension once it's stitched on to grip the item snugly. To finish, I simply put a strip of duck tape around the exposed ends, which also helps the card slide in and out easier, although it does stay in the wallet well enough that you can remove whichever item you need without yanking the whole thing out.

OK, enough yabbering Tasky. Just show 'em the bloody thing!!

The knives aren't what I most want to see out of my pockets. More of that on Day 30...

That's a neat wallet. I'll show my "wallet" tomorrow.

Day 25

The usual rotations today, plus a new addition to the Olight. Much as I like paracord, the suspension clip is a much better means of carry.

Day 25
Today I change things up some in the pouch department to try an organizer and separate pouch, instead of a single organizer/pouch combo.  This was mainly to try how the carry felt with a larger footprint but less bulk.

I knew I was going to have to go into the tourist area where carry is viewed a little stricter (fixed blade viewed questionably), so I started out with the below carry plus keys (with Rambler and light), Shirogorov knife and mini breacher bar

But then I remembered my one tool card has a knife edge, and figured that should count as a fixed blade considering it doesn’t fold, so I changed the carry to the below (keys not shown.

Day 21

Today's rotation was just the knife, I tend to linger on SAKs and what not when I rotate them, but knives I rotate freely. This is the 'Gnome' a knife design never actually made by its designer so was made by some Chinese OEM instead. I really like the design, I don't like that the lock failed on me and cut my knuckle...

Day 22

A much more pleasant knife day, my modded ZT 0801 (polished flats, ano'd valleys). A picture in use (I think the folks at Papa Johns could use a knife drive the amount of uncut stuff they send...) and a picture with another hog, this one the domestic variety.

Ouch.  Cool looking knife, but a lock you can’t trust is no good.

Watch a youtube review on this, and sounds like it can be 'tuned'?  Anyhow, it actually looks pretty nice, it's a shame the original maker didn't want to mass produce it.  This totally could have been taken up by a more reputable maker and make it better than what it is now.

You had to do it.  Everytime I think about donuts, I think about this amazing box someone brought to a meeting several years ago that was apple cinnamon filled and cinnamon crumple on time.  I don’t even know where he got it from but it was amazing.

Today I switched out a few items.  Mountaineer, MXBS, Yeoman with saw.

For the fun of it, I left in the tool card and decided it could be my daytime timekeeping device.  Although my angle was off, the time was still pretty close.

Day 23

Well today was a day, the rotations:

- Main knife: Kershaw Blur CF LE
- Fixie: Forged kiridashi
- 58mm: Titanium scaled Escort
- MT: LM Wave w/ bit kit and extension
- Light: mini Maglite

So the plastic bracket on one side of my chair snapped in half yesterday, I guess when you're a bigger guy you need to choose between leaning back or scratching your back. Anywho, given that I don't want the expense of replacing the chair I embarked on my first voyage using epoxy.

Wave disassembled half the chair

Kiridashi scored each side of the break to increase surface area

Blur liberated the epoxy whilst leaving the plastic useable as a mixing tray, in addition to normal food duties.

Escort helped break out the plastic that's meant to break

The results: pending, the initial joint I think is mostly aligned... I cant see under the ductape (shape of the bracket made it unclampable), hopefully it cures up straight enough to still go back on the chair, more support on the seems will be necessary, not sure if super glue will do, I'd rather not tangle with the epoxy again...

How the epxoy went: Horribly, I filled out the tray provided thinking more is more in a weight bearing situation. The packet gave me up to 5 minutes to apply it to get the best results, the entire tray turned into a single glob in about 1 1/2 minutes, so half the tube gone. It only gave me enough time to really coat one side of the bracket, but if it cures straight and holds it in place I can at least add support. The smoking from the epoxy was not great though, had to go stand outside for a while after that
