Excellent pictures, Rich and Willie :tu:

Day 8

I just got the paracord I needed to go with the locks I received earlier this week. Just something to match my Signal and Skeletools. The Wave assisted in the process :salute:

Day 6

I spent the day with all 4 of my young grandchildren (and took the eldest granddaughter to work this afternoon). I loaded up the Wave and other items to make sure I had what I needed for tightening scooter handles, dirt bike batteries, basketball goals, and opening snack packs  :salute:

Now that is a prepared Granddad!!!

Almost sounds as if you have an idea to buy themselves dad a tool or two for Christmas.  Fixin stuff takes away from spoiling them time.
If I start and end the day above ground, it is a good day!

Hope yours is as good!

Bonus pic from me...
And on to my wants list goes that pocket wrench! :like:

Started off the day with trimming some unwieldy branches the trimmer didn’t get down into.
Junipers? I have no such thing here, but you'll definitely see some saw work from me as the challenge progresses.

Just something to match my Signal and Skeletools. The Wave assisted in the process.
:like: Did you use the scissors on the paracord, and if so, how well did the work for you?

Dual color Wave pic today
Is that a mod? Whether it is or not... :like:

Day 8

Just when it was looking like a no-use day...I chased up some packages that had been missed. One contained a tasty treat (awlmost a kilogram of it!).

Thanks Farmer  I did, as I found the scissors to rip less than the serrated blade. That being said, I don't think this is a very high quality paracord. But as you can tell by the short length I used, these are more decorative anyway. It does make it easier to grab them out of my pocket though.

For my bonus picture I've been messing around with two colors. I have a Soldier 08 in transit and thought this would go well with the green and black scales.

Great pictures and uses, everyone! :tu:

Neither father has much aptitude for fixing stuff. Anyway, I really love the reaction I get from the kids when I fix something that they think can't be fixed  :D

Day 9

I was away from my computer most of the weekend, so it was nice to catch up on a bunch of great pics  :tu:

I used my Wave several times, but I kept forgetting to take pics.  Here I am using the Wave's diamond file to sharpen some of my pruning shears.  The handheld Fiskars are easy to sharpen with the file, but the larger ones are very difficult.  I think the larger one might have titanium shears.

Funny, reminds me of an event several years ago.
I and Mrs took the only 3 grandkids (at that time) (8 now), to the Zoo.   While there we encounter a client who was there with his wife and two children.  Their older daughter was mobile and hung out with my grands, we talked and walked among several exhibits together.  They were new to the area and getting settled.
Two weeks later the client is visiting my shop to test some retail equipment we had prepped,  and I noticed a grocery bag with him.
We were done with the testing and prep, he then came into the office and embarrassed removed a doll from the bag. Same doll his daughter was carrying at the zoo.
She insisted he bring it to me, as my granddaughter had told her I could fix it.  It had been broken since they moved here.

Yes, I did fix it, then I became an Uncle G until they moved away for another promotion.

Yes, kids notice!!!
If I start and end the day above ground, it is a good day!

Hope yours is as good!

Great uses and pics everyone. Adam the wave is an essential dad/grandad tool!

Day 9 of 30

Todays job  was starting new holes into drawer locks and securing with screws. The kiddo is strong enough to rip them out with the 3M adhesive. We have about 15 of these.

I used my new electrician awl to start a pilot hole.
[ You are not allowed to view this attachment ]

The wave and ratchet then secured the screws.

These little screws are worthless. Several of them snapped while driving in! I had to file them down before repositioning and starting over. In some cases I had I had to make new screw holes.

Here’s the “hole” setup.

How often do you oil? I do so on an as-needed basis.

:iagree: Same here. It really depends on the use and abuse. I mostly work outside and last week it was raining every day. I would rather have some fine mineral oil in between the tool than water.

Great pictures and uses today, fellas! :D

Day 10

I used the file on my Wave to smoothen the cuts on some snow guards, before painting the edges to prevent rust. :)

I am happy to see the file used in so many ways. I think a victorinox metal file is superior to file down something the way I needed it, but the diamond file is top quality.

Day 10 of 30

My wife grabbed about 25 new sets of baby clothes last night at a sale. The wave scissors were needed to cut them off before starting the wash this morning.

That's my number one use for awls too  :tu:  As far as I can remember, I dont think I have ever used any of my multitool awls on leather  :ahhh

Day 10

Ok you enablers, I started feeling like I was the only person here without a 1st generation Wave, so I bought one  :ahhh   I always thought the new Wave+ was better in every way, but saying that without owning both probably seems like a case of sour grapes   Now that I own both, I can say with authority that the Wave+ is better in every way but one - I prefer the slightly smaller size of the original Wave.  I'm still very glad I have it because it's a great addition to my collection  :tu:

Must. Resist. Peer pressure :poh:
