True! But I have to admit that I kind of like it anyway

I’m the same. I really enjoy logging and processing firewood. Feels like real work.
And nothing beats a cup of coffee in front of the fireplace, feeling the heat and staring in to the flames.

Ug! 🤢    Pampered Chefs!   :ahhh   :ahhh   :ahhh

Oh, the Mrs works for PC. Is 🤢 a personal bad experience with them or  :ahhh their unanimous street cred ?  The brand is all new here in France, and I'd never heard of them before last year to be honest.  :dunno:
Plus, they don't sell EDC gear, so I'm only vaguely interested at best.  :D
All I can say is that I'm just the cardboard guy in this venture, which I don't mind, as it gives me excuses reasons to get me new knives and justify explain why this challenge is actually fun helpful for her job.

My sister sells the stuff and is continually marketing it to her friends and family.  My wife purchased some, and it is quality stuff, but my 🤢 face was more about the constant hard sell from my sister.

Day 9:

Case Earth Brown Series Stockman with "Earth Brown" G-10 handles and a part-serrated clip-point blade. Case released a series of about a half-dozen in 2018 with G-10 handles and partially serrated main blades. It sold really poorly, and I was able to buy two for the cost of one from an established Case dealer in 2020.

I had bought a Jumbo Stockman for myself and had bought a Trapper for my Granddad. I eventually traded him for the Trapper after selling the Jumbo Stockman to a member of another forum who wanted a Case Jumbo Stockman for EDC; as I had a Queen/Moore Maker Jumbo Stockman that had become my favorite Jumbo Stock that I used instead.

I'm really fond of the high level of fit and finish on these.

Cool knife, Cody. Surprised they didn't sell better.

Day 10

No uses today. Tried to get a pic of the 08 with Pumpkin. Took about a dozen pics and didn't get anything better than this.

Day 9

I'm still using the same Leatherman, but here's a pic of a knife that I keep handy in my car.  It has a window punch and seatbelt cutter... and, of course, a combo blade  :tu:

If I ever get an Opinel, it will probably be the whistle type. Would make a great addition to my boat since we are required to have a minimum of a whistle to signal for help.

They're almost indestructible.  The whistle is loud and clear.
I had read that these knives were actually designed for the Mountain Guide school in France, which explains a lot of the unique tool set.  I'm a big Opinel fan, and this one sees a lot of pocket time  :D

I'd be happy to help if ever you need a Opinel only obtainable in France one day ; that being said I think the US website has most knives, just annoyingly more expensive. A bit like getting some Leatherman products on this side of the pond.  :P

That boxy serrated blade is interesting.  Back when I purchased my Spirit, I decided to go with the traditional blade, but sometimes I wish I would have gone with that one so I could try it out.  Does it excel at anything more than other blades?

Day 10 - got some light use today but nothing worth mentioning. I have to say it's quite nice to have a dedicated blade

I went camping about a year and a half ago and had a Buck lite knife in my pocket, which I didn’t normally carry. I found myself using it more than I expected, and so I started carrying a dedicated knife from then on.

At this time last year, for this challenge, I put my SAK away and carried a Cold Steel Voyager and a Leatheman Skeletool knife. I ended up carrying the Skeletool knife for most of the summer, and have almost always been carrying a SAK and a knife each day.

I think that's one of the good things with challenges like this. I never carry a dedicated blade (other than for work) and and never a combo blade unless I carry my OHO trekker that lives in my outdoor pants

It’s good at stuff like cable ties and plastic straps as it digs in a bit where a PE can sometimes slip. I’ve not used it in the kitchen but reckon it’d be good at tomatoes and the like….maybe even spreading butter  as it’s nickname implies

It compliments other carried PE knives really well IMO
