Case Knife Challenge
on: March 13, 2023, 11:13:25 PM
Any takers on a possible Case knife challenge?

I know we have Dean’s Traditional Challenge in July this would be a Challenge to showcase all those beloved patterns and handles of the Case knives on their own.

I’ open to month so let me know if interested.

I'd be in. Might even give me an excuse to pick up a new Case.

I'd be open to breaking out a Seahorse Whittier to carve some peach stones.

What is a good month for everyone?
The Challenges I know coming up
April - Fools of April Buck110
May - Vintage SAK
June - Tween 84/85mm SAK
July - Dean’s Traditional

I’m participating in the June and July, but good any other month.

I'm going to take a break from challenges next month, but I'm good with just about any other month.

I would find hard to stay away from such a challenge!  As my assortment of CASE branded knives keeps growing.

I am pretty good any month. I have done the April fools 110 a few times.

I wonder if possible to do a CASE challenge within a challenge?

Since majority of CASE knives are traditional designs, and we often carry multiples because, the Dean Memorial may attract more eyes…
If I start and end the day above ground, it is a good day!

Hope yours is as good!

Absolutely, many of us have done the GEC challenge within the DMC. We can get a Case badge going if we have enough people  :tu:

I game with it being within the Dean’s Traditional challenge or outside of it.

So that is even another option.

Because I’m doing the Tween and Farmer X asked not next month, how about the options being May or July as part of Dean’s.

I started a poll, so please vote choice.  If willing to do either May or July as challenge within challenge, then vote both.  If want different month, vote then comment open months.

I went with May or another month. There may be other brands I'd want to show in the Dean challenge. But if it is a sub-challenge, I'm still in.

Same here.  I usually carry my Opinels but wouldn't mind rotating a Case through.

I am committed to Echo's Vintage SAK challenge in May, so I voted for during the Dean51 challenge or another month.

Case only for the Dean51 Challenge sounds fun to me.  The only "challenge" the Dean51 gives me is remembering to take a photo every day, so adding a extra layer is all for the good IMO.   :D

I think that is the preference for most.

It will just be a matter of indicating when signing up for Dean’s that you are doing the Case challenge.  If there are enough people then a badge could be created.

Because it will be in conjunction with Dean’s Memorial Challenge, it will be a matter of indicating your intention when you sign up for Dean’s Challenge.  The way I’ve seen done previously is just put it in parentheses after your name.  Whether or not a badge is created will depend on how many sign up for and complete it; I forget the required number.

Badge?!

I would love to add a Case badge to my collection in June.

I agree,,, that will make a great looking badge. And I am one that will certainly be declaring allegiance to Case for those 30 days of Dean's Challenge!

And thanks for coming up with the idea!

Just an idea!  Maybe to much work,

Remove the 30, put a folder image there.

And then Instead X X, use X X X for the 30 day indicator.  That way if sometime down the road, a CASE Fix Blade challenge is arranged, then you have a badge with a minor tweak.
If I start and end the day above ground, it is a good day!

Hope yours is as good!

The problem with too much detail is that it gets lost in the small badge. Comis will have to tweek it to fit the badge format of the forum.

I like the XXX idea though
