Great job and cool key!

Thanks, Barry. We think it’s an original key for one of the old bedroom doors for our 100 year old house.

Cut a few ferns out of my back flower beds with the Spydie. No use for the Spirit once again. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Thanks for all the compliments on the pumpkins. I'll pass them along to the wife, she did the cat.

Day 15

Hand towel holder got a little loose. No problem for the tech driver.

Day 15

Bit of garden and yard work today.

Taking the tomato scaffolding out requires cutting some of the vines.

[ You are not allowed to view this attachment ]

Pliers tightened pruning shears.

[ You are not allowed to view this attachment ]

Philips tightened the kiddos shovel handle

[ You are not allowed to view this attachment ]

And I took a little bit of time to compare the 91mm and Spirit saws. I thought the Huntsman would be comparable out of the saw models I have in thickness (based on grip whole sawing).  Took down 2 small 2in diameter maple trees and shortened into 2 sections of 2ft  length. Two cuts each with both saws, sawing right and left hand into opposing points along the tree diameter.

[ You are not allowed to view this attachment ]

The Hunstman made it through both cuts in about 45s. Sawing was smooth.  The Spirit made the first cut in 60s and the second in 45s. Sawing was not as smooth and I needed a bit more downward force with the Spirit.  I think comis mentioned the difference in teeth as a factor. My test was hardly scientific.

[ You are not allowed to view this attachment ]

Also cut open a hot dog packet with the spear point blade and fancy cheese bag with the scissors. I tried to use the 2mm flat head to open a toy battery compartment, but had to break out the Rally combo tool Phillips.

Tools used thus far:
Serrated blade x1
Scissors x5
Pliers x7
Saw x3
Spear point blade x6
Phillips x6
Pry bar x4
2mm flathead x2
Wire cutters x1
Package opener x4
Wire scraper x1
Wire stripper x1
Awl x2
File x1

Comparing LM T4 package opener tool to the Spirits chisel, not as common a tool as you’d expect considering how much use mine gets

I actually used mine to cut up onions for a dinner I helped make.  The butter blade is a great slicer and cleanup was really easy with the stainless construction.

I don't own the T4, but did remember making a mental note when I was evaluating it in person.  I think I'd much prefer the chisel tool from Spirit, the one on T4 was a half baked effort from LM, IIRC.

I do and have for the last 4 or 5 years except for during challenges.  On rare occasions I carry something else just to try something new such as my recently acquired Leatherman P4 and Gerber Dual Force but I always go back to the Spirit.

Same for me...that and another SAK that I switch out or something like a LM Crunch. But 80% of the time it is a Spirit or sometimes the Swiss Tool...but mostly the Spirit.

I've had mine for a few years and carry it off and on.  After this challenge, I think it's going to see a lot more use.  It's a tough tool that has an incredible variety of tools.

Day 11

I spent some time today cutting down some Brazilian Pepper, a toxic, invasive species that is very difficult to get rid of once it is established.  At least I caught this plant before the berries were ripe as they will sprout wherever they fall.

Is there anyone present that actually does EDC a Spirit?

Mine is part of the regular rotation, depending on the job. Spirit is the outdoor tool, Explorer is the indoor SAK usually accompanied by my Kick, Wave with all the extras is my DIY tool kit, and since the Alox challenge, I’ll occasionally rotate the Pinoeer with small SAK while out and about.  I’m finding I can get by with my Spirit primarily, but there are instances where I’ve grabbed a small ratchet and bit set, where outside of a challenge I’d just use my Wave toolkit.
