Too hot to bother adding the ESEE JG3 to my belt so I just stuffed it in my back pocket.  Too hot to take a fresh picture too, so This one is being recycled.  The heat is oppressive today.  Did I mention it was hot? Need some rain to cool things off.

The JG-3 and  BR Necker are two very fine knives.

Home most of the day and CR2.5 actually saw action trimming branches off a dead fall that came down last night.

[ You are not allowed to view this attachment ]

Recycled photo as well.  Was threatening rain and sheltering heat, I left my phone indoors.

Actually now at 19:16 EST middle of a thunder and lightning storm, blanketing the ground with sheets of rain.

Need it to cool us down…

Hopefully it passes through quickly.    Really need a day long soaker to penetrate and restore ground moist.  These quick storms run off into rivers to quickly.
If I start and end the day above ground, it is a good day!

Hope yours is as good!

The Bark River Necker looks like a good carry knife.  Like the accompanying trapper too.
I bet the CR2.5 is a breeze to carry. If I ever won the lottery, I might buy a dozen of them and use them for steak knives.

Looks handy 👍
It is!
More stout than a Bird & Trout style.
The blade size is same size as many of my slip joints, and the MICARTA Handles are great for gripping.
It is versatile and is discrete on the belt in the provide sheath.

And the best part, not a chance of break a nail deploying the blade.

I added some comparison pics to the 75 Stockman.

I’ve really come to love small fixies.  So many can be easily and discreetly carried, while also being so useful. It is a shame that in many places they are prohibited or negatively viewed.

:iagree: Reasonably, a small fixie should cause no more concern than any pocketknife and I don't think pocketknives should cause any concern at all.  You can sometimes change the way people think just by offering a knife when someone needs it, but unfortunately, not very often.

Happy Fixed Blade Friday!
I'm carrying the Schrade 152OT. A very capable knife at around $20 and available pretty much anywhere.  If anyone doesn't have an EDC appropriate fixie for the challenge in October please consider the Schrade.

I've been pocket carrying the Real Steel Furrier Harpoon ever since I got it about 5 or 6 weeks ago.  It is so flat and light that you don't notice it in your back pocket.  I never even tried to belt carry it because the belt loops are quite narrow.  I may change to something else tomorrow, but the Furrier Harpoon has won me over for being convenient to use and easy to carry.

Serious question:  Don’t you find a FB in your back pocket either uncomfortable to sit on or inconvenient to take out of your pocket every time you sit down?

Serious answer.  I don't feel it any more than I feel the wallet I carry on the other side.  It is flatter than the wallet and just the ring sits above the top of the pocket.  I don't wear low rise jeans, so neither the wallet nor knife are under the sitty down part when I'm in a chair, but rather they are vertical against my back or the back of the chair.  I can pull the knife out (standing or sitting) by sticking a finger in the ring and I can put it back in the sheath by having my finger along the top of the blade to the point, to guide it back into the top of the sheath and just dropping it, without having to remove the sheath from the pocket.  It is less noticeable in the pocket than an Opinel No 8 or similar sized folder.  Wider handled knives tend to be uncomfortable, creating pressure points, so I generally carry them on my belt with or without a dangler, but often with the blade part of the sheath in my back pocket anyway as that prevents them from sticking through the slats of a chair or otherwise getting hung up on anything.  The Harpoon is no problem at all.

Fixed blade Friday again and I'm carrying the Brisa Enzo Necker 70.  It's a little smaller than I really like at just 6 inches, allowing for only a 3-finger grip, but I make it work with the help of the lanyard.

Brisa is one brand I’ve been curious about but never tried.
Lanyards definitely help with shorter handles.

I do like the Brisa knives. I think they look Italian made, but they are from Finland.  I started with the Necker 70 and then got the Crafter.  Of the two I think I like the Crafter, a modern puukko, better.  I do wish it had a lanyard hole. Interestingly enough, if you buy it as a kit to finish yourself you can get a hollow tube for the last hole instead of the two-way Corby bolts.

Took a little walk in the woods.  Got a photo with a GearAid Kotu small fixed blade.  Actually a multi-tool of sorts.  It does have a bottle opener and a glass breaker.  I leave it on a belt pack that I carry outdoors.

I think I saw the little knife the first time I ever had the box.  Then it kept making the rounds with no takers.  Finally, I decided to give it a home.  Just walks and rides on the lawn tractor.  Best wishes.  G
