DAY 17

After cutting loads of cardboard (and laterly ripping cardboard as so blunt), the classic needed a little more than hand sharpening, so decided to reprofile the edge a bit and changed the tip to towards more of a sheep foot shape (not as pointy)....I am doing this slowly as I only have one classic to hand (the black one is my wife's).

In my opinion it cuts far better than before, and the edge is mirrored, so crazy sharp

I must have turned over the wrong rock when I made a little comment about breaking dishes and only having one coffee cup.  I have a box of mismatched old cups in a shed.  All I have to do is go get them and clean them up.  I appreciate the offer of cups, but there is no need to send me anything.  I'm good.  What I have is not an inventory problem, just one of distribution.
By the way, I didn't break my stuff in a fit of pique.  It was clumsiness.  Now, on to little knife photography.
My coffee is brewing.  No need to show Bijou opening another k-cup.  In case you were interested, this one is Community Brand Cafe Special.  We will see if it is special or not.  Cowboy coffee, so might need a cowboy hat.  (Not really a cowboy hat, just something to keep the sun off)  Several 58mm decided to take a ride.  Best wishes.  Gary

Looks like a good re-profile job to me, Gra.  I think I like it better than stock.  How did you cope with the S-curve bend in the blade tip?  Best wishes.  G

I have ground half of the s bend away with the reprofiling, so 4 or 5mm shorter on the tip, as can be seen below, you can just see the remaining bend and how much material removed when closed.

DAY 17  Today I cut some string, as my wife calls it, to make SAK fobs.  The Tropical Surf scissors zipped right through the reflective orange positive lock cord and red bow release string (very tough, and smaller diameter than paracord).

No action today. Just a picture of a Classic that resides in my hiking first aid kit, clean and quiet, awaiting eventual
field surgery.

Day 17:
Just filed my nails smooth after clipping them. I did not take a picture of that, so here's a picture of my Mint with a ball-in-cage I carved years ago and use as my classroom hall pass.

Swift recovery Jeff.

Day 17

Clipped a thread off my daughter's sweater but I didn't catch it in action.  Instead, here's my effort of "Still Life in SAK".

May the best of your past, be the worst of your future.

DAY 18

Transplanting poplar trees to create a new wind break. Dug up volunteer poplar trees where not needed, and used the classic to cut the tap roots to a sensible size before replanting.

The new profiled edge is really working well.

Transplanted 14 trees over the last two weeks, this has been my lunch time sanity check from my full time stressful day job!!!

Boring photo of blue Classic nipping the end from one of those powdered drink mixes.  You will have to take my word for it that I used the blue Classic.  Scissors worked to perfection as usual.
Getting ready to make some coffee.  No snow here this week, just temperatures down below the cow shed.  Best wishes.  Gary

Gary, I bet that drink tastes pretty good. I'm a fan of anything with lime, except that stuff with a worm at the bottom ofnthe bottle. We've had a heat wave the last couple of days and are back in the positives. It's crazy how much warmer 15° feels when it was 45 degrees colder a few days ago. I was even outside shoveling the new snow we got off the old neighbors driveway without gloves and could still move my fingers when I was done! We were supposed to get 14" and only got maybe 6" or so. Fine by me
but I'm sure my kids would have wanted more to play in. I'm just glad I don't have to shovel all 14"!

Day 18:
I've got my SMKW Trash Panda SD along today. As you can see, we are both armed and ready to take on hunger. Also, have my new Nitecore NWS10 whistle for recess duty so I don't have to yell across the playground when kids don't hear/ignore the bell when it is time to go inside. It's LOUD!

Another down day for me.  Classic seems to be getting bored, which may not be a good thing.

Revised to add a photo of Classic opening a bottle of pills which I will start taking immediately.  Classic is less bored.

Day 17: No use; and it wasn't until I'd powered down the PC and put away my phone that I realized I'd forgotten to take a photo.

Tractors are a Czech Zetor and a Polish Ursus, both made probably in the '70s or '80s.

Igra has been a well known player in the HO scale field for years, and still produces a sizeable line (though it's predominately Tatra trucks these days)--the Crystal 12045 is 1:43; and the molds were sold to a smaller firm who still makes it in a number of colors.

The Ursus C-385 is by Estetyka of Poland--who I assume went under after the fall of the Iron Curtain. They were most known for Matchbox knockoffs.

Buck is a 1993 dated Christmas gift knife from a local quarry. Has never been carried or used, and I fully intend to keep it that way (helped by the fact that I hate three-spring Stockmans due to their thickness).

Day 18. Scissors.

I have no idea why action figure companies rarely feature accurate hydraulic rescue equipment--instead choosing to replicate some strange grabby doohickey.  GI Joe did an accurate combi-tool (plus, some sets came with a power unit resembling the Holmatro Portable Power Unit), and Playmobil's is decent. The Re:Play Real Heroes line included a Highway Rescue set that had a decent spreader and cutter included, decently scaled for 8" figures (something no one else makes).  The original Re:Play firefighter figure was a crude, cheap GI Joe knockoff (complete with a Kung-Fu grip clone hands) shrunken down to 9" tall.  Thus, being designed for thicker limbs allows it to fit over the paramedic uniform this figure already wears (same as the figure in the background--Barbie paramedic shirt and boots combined with Breyer pants). These are both Breyer riders that got EMS uniforms when I found the Barbie Paramedic's gear wouldn't fit on a standard 12" figure; but it still fit on an 8" figure just fine.

Modern battery-power units should result in action figure companies designing more firefighter figures to include "E-Draulic" type tools; but no. GI Joe recently made a modern version of Ripper in the Classified series; who includes a tool resembling a modern Hurst E-Draulic spreader.  HOWEVER, the designer strangely chose to stick a gas weedeater motor on the back end instead of the battery pack. I'm hoping I can get my hands on the figure at a huge discount (or at least the combi-tool itself), and modify and repaint it to look like an E-Draulic spreader.
