Just hanging around waiting for the arctic blast to show up. Little orange screwdriver came from the Stihl dealer.  They sold them, but handed some out to customers as well.  Mine was a gimme.  They used to get a shipment in every year for German made Stihl branded advertising knives. Cost about $8 at one time. The woods workers thought a lot of them. Best wishes. G :D  [ You are not allowed to view this attachment ]

Well the arctic blast came....and mostly went.  It was 15F this morning, but warmed up to a swelting 50F by afternoon.  I have been sulled up hibernating in my ice cave (aged farm house) for the past week.  Maybe I can get out tomorrow and browse on some leaves and berries or whatever hibernating grumpy critters do.  The rain followed by the single digit temps heaved up the ground around my concrete walkway and broke it in two.  No biggie.  I have some patching compound in a storage building.
I have been searching for another challenge to join.  Hiker?  No Hiker.  MacGyver?  That might work, but it's too far off to plan for.  Keychain Challenge?  I do have one of those.  Might be too boring to carry this little thing for a solid month and pretend I am using it for something.  The reader's credulity can only be stretched so far.  After a while the story of how I rebuilt a lawnmower engine using just my Swiss+Tech teeny tool could cause some tongues to click.  Thirty days of this sort of drivel could be highly narcoleptic to readers and to poor old IMR as well.  So we will see.  Something could happen.
Might as well show a photo of the little keychain tool with a see-thru.  Since this is a see-thru thread.  Best wishes.  G

As I told you a couple of days ago, my favorite Tinker has disappeared and I have a feeling one of the 4 little gremlins in my house snagged it and put it somewhere I haven't discovered. I do have a new Sapphire Tinker on its way and a Silvertech Fieldmaster that I am having a hard time developing a relationship with even as much as I love fieldmasters.

Ooooh, Aztec.  That frosts my pumpkin.  First you bring up that Silvertech SwissChamps are on sale.  That was bad enough.  I know you have to make so many enabling posts to maintain your ranking here, but that was dirty.  Now.  NOW, you have the unmitigated poopsperacity to show me a photo of a Silvertech SwissChamp.  My dream color and on a SC too.  Low.  That was just low.

I had a few minutes to calm down a little.  I doubt if anyone lives close enough to hear the howling and screaming that accompanied my run around the house outside.  In the dark.  And rain.  For the record, I was screaming before and after I almost fell over the rain-soaked coyote.  The wild canine did the howling.  I guess they don't see crazy people running in the rain much.
That was a nice photo of the.....thing.... that friend Aztec posted.  I do hope that friend Montana can find his Tinker.  Probably under a seat cushion somewhere or under a car seat.  Blaming the wee innocents seems like a cop-out, although it can happen.  Sticky little fingers do sometimes pick up pretty things.  Best wishes.  G

Sorry Gary.  Didn't mean to rile you up.  I've been wanting a Swisschamp for a while so when I saw the reduced price and the Silvertech scales, I had to do it.  I just need to explain to Amanda why there's a deficit in our account.

Some black-eyed peas and french fries did a lot to calm me back down.  I can't imagine what must be more frightening.  Blundering into a soggy coyote or a wife with a bank statement in her hand and the "What is this" look on her face.  Brrrrr.  Best wishes.  G

Happy See-through.  I took this photo of a Spartan earlier in the week for some reason.  I hate to waste a photo.  Rained some last night.  I will toddle out later on today and take along my relative viscosity instrument (stick) and see how sodden my driveway happens to be.  No snax in the house and sorely lacking in the bread and soda inventory.  Now that I thought about it, I think it's time to make a pot of coffee.  Yummers.  Best wishes.  G

Thanks Ninja Turtle 7.  I did manage to make a pot of coffee.  I am getting off to a slow start.  Sun's out.  Time to check the driveway.  I did a 180 in my yard with a 4WD a couple of years ago.  Didn't hit anything, but it was a little more thrilling than I wanted.  Best wishes.  G

Here is my newest see-thru. I ordered this SKS designer series Fisherman and just received it a couple of days ago. When I ordered it, I didn't realize it was designed with Sapphire scales and they are + version on top of that, which I also didn't realize. I'm really liking it!

See-through silver.  Yes, I know it is still Saturday.  I tried to get on the MTO site, and got a server is too busy notice.  I figured that I might as well post something as long as it is working for the moment.  Now I will have to remember how to reset the time on my aged Casio.  Press A until I get the HS screen, then press B and D at the same time?  I have the destruction manual somewhere.  No sense in reading it.  I will piddle with it until it works.  Good old trial and error.  And error.  And error...
Best wishes.  G

Might need another Silvertech photo.  Schrade hone steel.  Key ring I was going to use in a challenge in a week or so.  I used the hone steel on my black MacGyver Tinker.  Nice.  Also tried it on a cheap/not particularly cheerful Winchester flipper/clipper that I found.  The blade on that chunk of recycled tuna cans came out the best it has ever been.  I am under no delusions about it holding an edge, but for now it is okay.  Best wishes.  G

With your photo skills, you should make a fold-out calendar with that pretty SAK of yours in its see-through lingerie. ::)

Now that's an idea.  I could get Demi and Dana bikini photos that you have to see to believe along with some SAK pix.  I just got another ad from Megyn too.  I could put one blonde in just for variety.
I am carrying the SwissChamp today for possible MacGyver usage.  So far, it is just waiting in my pocket.
Best wishes, G

Basic Silvertech Swiss Champ.  I carried it last Sunday for the MacGyver.  I believe I will do the same tomorrow.  Maybe if I post this a little early, some others will join in.  It could happen.  Best wishes.  G
