Nice inlay on that titanium!

  GD

As best I can tell, it is two different colors of anodizing and not an actual inlay.  Regardless, I agree it’s a visually striking knife!

Day 28
Wood Handled Wednesday

Well this challenge is almost over.  Not much to do except put the chairs on the tables and slop around with the mop.  The heat came back yestiddy.  93F might not be hot where you are, but it is no picnic here.  No rain.  The morons who kept mowing while the drought was dragging on now have no lawn to mow.  Just light brown fuzzies that crunch a little when you walk on them.  Thought I might mooch a little local produce yesterday, but all I could shake down were a few beets and some wilted peppers.  Every house around here 20 years ago had a little garden.  None of my neighbors have one now.  They all just quit gardening, moved, or died.
Now on the cheery side, how about a nice Opinel?  Easiest full-sized knife in the world to carry.  This one is a No. 8.  I can remember that because it is stamped on the knife and I only have one of these things.  Best wishes.  G

Wood Handle Wednesday
EF11 friction folder, I have a love hate with this knife. The size, shape and feel this knife are great. I just wish it was a fixed blade, locking, slipjoint; anything but  a friction folder with no friction and the shortest tang ever.

Day 28: Wenger

A little preview for next month's Wenger/Delemont challenge. For some reason, I thought this was a Forester, but when I went looking for the saw I realized it was actually a Traveler.

:iagree: They awlso give fantastic quality at a price that's far more than reasonable.

My Matterhorn

It looks like it's held together with screws, or are my eyes deceiving me? If they are indeed screws, maybe all it needs is a little righty-tighty.

When I went looking for the saw I realized it was actually a Traveler.
:tu: My first Wenger (and the only one that I previously owned as of this post) was a Traveler.

More great stuff for today, y'awl! :2tu:

Day 28
Wenger Wednesday and Wood-Handled Wednesday

When you're having trouble deciding which daily thread you should contribute to, both is the obvious answer! Here we see a Wenger Mike Horn Souvenir and an Opinel No. 6 in olivewood.

I would try tightening them but they are already cracking the scales.
It's only a 12$ knife so if I get bored I may dissassemble as a project and see what I can do.
But....right now it's a pokey fidget toy.

Day 28: Wenger Wednesday!

Pocket Tool Chest with stainless steel scales.  This one has some heft to it which seems surprising for it's size.

Day 29
Three Layer Thursday

I wrote Three Lawyer to start with.  Failing more space junk ballistic intrusion or maybe some bad canned tuna later on, it now appears that I have at least an even chance of making it to the end of this challenge.  Then it will be 'All things Wenger' for a month.
While I can still post a Victorinox, I might as well show my favorite Climber.  Best wishes.  Gary

Day 29: Throwback Thursday! This is currently out of production as far as I know. GEC 48 improved trapper.

In my opinion, this is the best EDC traditional knife pattern/design ever made. Combining a full sized straight edge wharncliffe with a clip point that has a little belly is a great idea. If I could change one thing I may make the blades a little taller (not thicker) I need to re profile the edge on this one eventually so it will cut more efficiently, but it’s a good knife.

Three Layer Thursday
Since we had BPRobert's clip point Traveler for Wenger Wednesday, I decided to use my Traveler for TLT
 (no toothpicks/tweezer on mine)

I think I had to salvage the T&T out of two different knives to get a set for that Traveler. Vic accessories cost too much, but at least you can get them.

My Traveler doesn't have slots for T&T...which is odd.
Sakwiki lists a couple dozen Traveler variations but the only ones w/o T&T have special scales, not the clasic red on mine

Lots of variations to Wengers.  The Traveler 16932 didn't have toothpick or tweezer but did have the little short chain on it.  That was about 1991, or so.  Usual red scales.  Best wishes.  G

Day 29
Throwback Thursday and Three-Layer Thursday

A Mini Mag-Lite and MP400 (not these particular examples) were my carry 20 years ago. The Super Tinker served me with quiet dignity and honor for over a dozen years. Sooner or later I'll send it to Connecticut for a well-earned "spa treatment."

Day 30
Flashlight Friday

End of the challenge.  Everybody please exit to your right.  No pushing.  The porter will bring your baggage.  A Leatherman and a flashlight.  Temps hit 96 yesterday.  Thunder rolled to the north, but not a drop of rain.  Didn't sleep much.  Again.  Doing the zombie walk through the place.
I noticed the Cheap but Cheerful board is getting spammed again.  Same line as many times before, "I'm glad I finally joined."  Every time supposedly from a different country.  France this time.  Everywhere from Sweden to Greece with same nonsense mass of gabble.  Yes, I reported it as spam yestiddy.  Every time it gets taken down, another clone pops up.
Best wishes to all who labored mightily in this late summer Rotation challenge.  I will see some of you in the Delemont.  Gary (IMR)
