The Minichamp was busy today removing batteries from a light up pumpkin and swapping out more batteries out of watches.

Day 4

Used the MiniChamp as a small utility blade, scissors and screwdriver while redoing the wiring in my garage to get the installed gas heater operational again. Just in time, too: we had our first snow of the season last night, and we're expected to get snowfall every day for the remainder of the week.

Day  5A

Day five already.  One day left before IMR's "Best used by" date expires.  I woke up early.  Either 3:30 or 4:30AM today, I forget.  Listened to the radio for a while.  After an hour or so, I tried moaning for a while.  Just to see if my moaner was still working.  I generally follow that up by saying smurf a few times, but decided not to risk it today.
How about a MiniChamp at the eye doctor photo?  Yeah!  The two older women are sitting by the glasses display.  Even if your eyes weren't working up to snuff, you could tell they were older women since they weren't peering into a cell phone.  They were actually TALKING to each other.
Anyway I got shuttled back and forth out of various cubicles.  Read the letters.  Watched the pretty girlie adjust the things on a machine.  Asked her what it was for.  She said for my glasses.  Told her I had never used the machine and didn't want glasses.  She looked shocked.  Then she went down the list of my drugs.  "Still taking Predzizzapone?  Yes.  Adolizopan?  No, haven't taken that in over 5 years.  She looked at me a little funny.  Globolomat?  No, I don't take that either.  How about Dizipalone?  Ditto.  5 years ago.  Plus."  I could tell she didn't believe me.  I told her I took Tomolodine.  She said for me to spell it.  As if.  She tried to computerize that.  No go.  And.... I take Briphizomax."  She turned around in her chair and stared at me.  She got up to leave and I asked if she was going to check my eye pressure.  More blank stares.  I told her why and this time she believed me.  I think.
Finally, she did my eye pressure and dilated my eyes by dribbling drops all over my face.  Some did get in my eyes eventually, once I told her she would have to hold my eyelids open.  She had never done that before either, but it worked. So, I went back into the lobby with a handful of tissues and dark glasses on.  A guy and his wife tried not to stare at me since I was the only one with blackout lenses on.  Then I sneaked out a toy that I had filched from the kiddie section of the office.  I wrapped it in the tissue when they weren't looking and leaned forward.
When the guy looked up I told him, "I had one bad eye."  He said nothing.  Then I said, "They took it out" and showed him the little plastic ball wrapped in tissue paper.  He looked away, then laughed.  Hard to tell if he thought it was funny or thought it might be better to humor a crazy person.  I took the toy home with me.  That is it in the second photo.  Best wishes.  G

Day 5

Had to use the file to fix a nail before I got it caught on something and I assisted the wife with opening up her allergy med.

Day 5:

Compared the PST blade and MC main blade to sharpen a broken coloring pencil.  PST blade is over kill for it.

[ You are not allowed to view this attachment ]

Also compared the emergency blade to my Alox Solo slicing strawberries.  I use this blade for cutting blueberries or grapes for little kids, but it’s a bit small for the strawberries.

Then fixed a drawer lock. The crappy screw broke in half pulling against the lock pulling it out.

Day 5

Hard mode challenge complete: find an actual use for the cuticle pusher. Turns out it makes a better flathead screwdriver than the actual flathead screwdriver when replacing a light switch.

Day 6

I found a box of cake mix and made myself a sub-par birthday cake.  Might have been good with some ice cream on top.  Of course I didn't have any.  I think the little slightly curved blade on the Mini might be the best tool there is on it.  A light drizzle outside.  Got out and worked in the leaves yestiddy.  It was way too much work for the amount of good it did.
I still haven't used the scoopula for anything.  Probably never will.  This is my second MiniChamp challenge.  I keep it tied to a belt loop with my improvised shoestring and pink paper clip tether.  Only way to keep it from being lost.  Might go out and look at the pockey knives at Walmart today.  Need to buy groceries anyway.  I wonder if they have any of those $10 wonder knives that everybody was salivating over online a month ago?  Might ask to look at one.  Friend Aztec bought one but didn't sound ecstatic about it.  Just another Chinese flipper clipper.  Best wishes.  G

Yeah, the Ozark Trail with D2 blade is ok.  The knife if fine but I wouldn't trust it with heavy duty chores.

There was a space on the display for the $10 Ozark Trail D2 folder, but it was empty.  I saw this $15 set of Ozark Trail micarta knives.  Probably have some cheap sheaths.  Blades somewhere around 4 inches.  Give or take.  They actually look good from the package.  Not my kind of thing.  The handles were quite attractive.  On second thought the handles might be some other sort of laminate?  Best wishes.  G

Not a bad looking set of scales.  I wish the Orange Ozark one came with those scales.  Would definitely look more attractive.  Though I must say that I can see the orange scales even without my glasses on so there's that.

PS When I got up this morning, my eye was as red as that little plastic toy.

Day 6:

Carried the old Marlboro PST with the Minichamp.  The Marlboro Outdoorsman is a great complimentary toolset for the PST.  No use for PST or Outdoorsman today.

And cut out some bad spots in Japanese pears with the emergency blade.  This time my Solo underperformed on some on the smaller hole.

Poor little Minichamp had to defur this robo vacuum.  I'll save you the horror of the before pictures.  Let's just say I pulled enough fur and hair to weave the robo vacuum a toupee.

Day 6

Used the MiniChamp to help unpack and re-setup one of my 3D printers. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to get a clean print with it yet, likely because all of my filament absorbed moisture while it was in storage and transit. We'll see if a fresh roll does better tomorrow.

Day 7

I don't really have any ducts, but I do have the correct tape for it.  If I ever decide to get some ducts.  Till then, the tape comes in handy for a bunch of this and that.  MiniChamp did a workmanlike job on duct tape cutting.  Rally came along just to show off a combo tool.  The old Mini doesn't have one.  Makes it so jealous.  Best wishes.  G

Thanks, Pit.  Yeah, it was quite a party.  I watched an old movie and ate a whole bag of Walmart sour cream and cheddar potato chips.  Didn't feel so great after that.  I had some Dollar Tree shortbread cookies striped with ersatz chocolate also.  I think the fake chocolate did it.  Best wishes.  G
