Powernoodle Day 25

I opened a bag of peppers.  John Adams the Goldendoodle has one for luncheon every day.

Before pepper:  Mr. Adams is grumpy.

After pepper:  Mr. Adams is a Good Boy.

Only 4 months till Christmas.
Most of our shopping is done, already.
Perhaps the Boss Lady and I can take a trip after her surgery.
Pleasent day outside and enjoy my cigar.

Y'all have a great upcoming week.

Addicted to sharp pointy things.

I'm probably going to need a clock like that because squinting ain't helping and I can only bring the clock so close to my face with or without glasses.

I wasn't thrilled with having to replace the other clock (20+ years old and still works. I'll put it in my office or something.) but it is nice. Easy to read, can change the colors, adjustable brightness so we use it as a night light (I got tired of finding and changing the goofy bulbs on the lava lamp behind it.

Day 24

Feeling better just in time to go back to work tomorrow.

Got this new clock for the bedroom about a month ago. I like it, but I guess needed to double the size of the numbers on my clock is probably a sign I'm getting old.

David Bowie said, "Aging is an extraordinary process where you become the person you always should have been."  I never knew I should have been waking up feeling someone threw me off a train. :salute:

Sounds like a great day!
Day 25

Early morning, easier to jump out of bed with cooler air blowing in the back window.  Coffee and a load of laundry, boiled eggs for my protein this week.

And wow, it was only 7:30.

The rest of the morning slowed down to a crawl!

Now getting cleaned up for afternoon stops, and used the little knife blade to open a few envelopes from Saturday, no checks😯.

Plans will include drive across county for dinner with daughters family..  late invite due to unusual work schedules.   Free dinner😜

Day 25

Feeling better enough to make up for Friday.

(Despite my clock issues) I'm too young for the "every schoolboy needs a pen knife" era. We did occasionally get given knives to sharpen colored pencils however, because they would destroy regular pencil sharpeners or something. I like the stripes you get on a knife when you sharpen a pencil with one.

Looks good JonesE and BP!  I was a junior in high school, and forgot a pocket knife one day.  My shop teacher asked to borrow mine, and I said I'd forgotten to put it in my pocket.  He told me he didn't ever want to catch me without a pocket knife again .  He never did!
In those days, most everyone had either a Buck 110 or the Pakistani equivalent on their belts.  I was the oddball, in that I carried my Huntsman, the one I still have today.

And now, students aren’t allowed to carry a knife at all in most schools.  Such a shame.

Day 25
Noticed the upstairs hall light wasn’t working.  Thought it was the light bulb.  I could not turn two of the tiny screws using my fingers, so the mini flagship pliers came into use.  All that to discover it isn’t the bulb, and mow may need to call electrician.

I remember carrying a knife or SAK since middle school.  I even remember pickup trucks having gun racks in high school.  Guys would head out after school to find some doves, rabbits, etc.

Day 25

Needed some assistance taking this foil seal off of the creamer.  I swear they seal it with epoxy and purposefully leave just a tiny sliver of aluminum to grab on to.

:iagree:   At least a few times a week I must do the same thing to remove or break the safety seal on products.
If I start and end the day above ground, it is a good day!

Day 26

Sometimes I had a pocketknife when I was in the lower grades in school.  Sometimes I didn't.  They didn't fit in with my EDC plan at the time.  Not anything important like my good luck buckeye, change purse shaped like a football with a nickel in it for ice cream and a house key, hankie for bloody nose emergencies, Outer Limits trading cards, etc.  Didn't use the hanky for normal drippy nose duty.  Sleeves were must easier to use.  There were days when my sleeves would be wet for several inches when I got home.  Mom never said anything, or if she did I wasn't listening.
Most of the kids didn't have a knife either.  Or a need for one.  If you needed a knife, like for putting a hole in an orange, you just asked David Lee.  He always had a little white handled jack and would lend it to anyone.  He didn't have any friends because nobody liked him, but he would loan a pocketknife.  Even if you only wanted to look at it.  He explained to me that he used one blade for just anything, but kept the big one clean for his apples and stuff.  The teachers even borrowed the David Lee cutlery from time to time.  Even after I started carrying a Kutmaster jack knife, I still borrowed David Lee's folder.  You couldn't pull out your own, because then you became a David Lee substitute with everyone pestering you to borrow or maybe just look at your stuff.  That wouldn't do.
I carried the Kutmaster part way through high school.  I had no affection for the thing but didn't have access to anything else that was easy to carry.  I went through quite a few knives but had no particular attachment to any of them.  I always carried a knife doing outdoor things.  I remember making it halfway over a barbed wire fence.  The wire caught a sock, so I fell with my foot up in the air and the barb so twisted in the sock that I couldn't get the sock off or loose.  The Kutmaster had to cut me out.  One brown sock had a funny shaped hole in it for the rest of its sock service life.
That's enough boring reading for today.  The Swiss+Tech would be much more useful with some sort of blade on it.  I will be glad when I toss the thing back in a drawer.  Best wishes.  G

In the lower grades, I usually had a Hot Wheels or Matchbox car in my pockets Gary.  We traded them all the time.  Valuable commodity in those days  :D

Day 26

My day started slow, and easy!  Found myself remembering summer days of my youth, and how fast it seems to have past.

This barn picture is a favorite, it resembles the barn that occupied the land next to my home growing up.  It is now gone,  all the land was donated to the Kalamazoo Nature Center.   My childhood home still stands, but we sold it this winter after mom past away last July.

Awl good and fond memories.

The lower level, had a milking parlor, 6 stalls, upper level would store bailed hay to the roof, being filling it with last cutting about now.

🥲

NEXTOOL seems to be a very handy pocket tool, Carries well in a slip, and easier to find in the bottom of my pocket that way.

I can imagine a Hot Wheels EDC Challenge.  That would be awesome.

Hot Wheels on Amazon:  https://tinyurl.com/2swybuuc

Today marks our 25th wedding anniversary.

Happy "Anniversity" as we say at the Powernoodle Compound.    :tu:  My father accidentally wrote "Anniversity" on a card about 40 years ago, and it stuck.

NEXTOOL seems to be a very handy pocket tool, Carries well in a slip, and easier to find in the bottom of my pocket that way.

The NexTools are my favorite small MTs for EDC, at least among the models in current production.
