Day 29

February is now over and I enjoyed this 'challenge' though I have to say the Flex ecosystem made it pretty easy as I pretty much always had a tool for the jobs that came up.

Here's my final loadout and I have to say I was really pleased with these tools and I'll be using them a lot despite the challenge ending. It was a pleasure to hear your thoughts and see how you guys used your modular tools.

Day 29

I've focused so much on the package opener, I realized I hadn't used the knife. Easy one handed opening and very sharp!

I'm gonna be honest, I'm really excited to carry a SAK again. I haven't loved the Flexes this month.

Yesterday, on Day 29 (Viengt Neuf) i sadly did post anything, usally i wait until the end of my Day because might be there where someting to do for the Flex Plier left, but then i was too tired and fell asleep to early ..

I did use the Comp yesterday again on the Swimming Clup after i swom about 700 m, and i did test an EDC Combo whit the Cybertool and the Flex Plier which did not worked out because the Cybertool is too heavy ..

So this morning i did cut my Bread Bun whit the Blade of the Roxon Flex Plier, but did changed it, and the Hook now for the Screwdriver which lets you also attach these small Roxon Bits ..
The Companion is now in my Backpack and would get used if i have to use the bigger Bits, 2 Carry in fact 4 Multitools is a bit much, so i went to 3 : Roxon Flex Plier, Minichamp, Vic Huntsman, ..  i will post later a picture for Day 30 (trente), and maybe i will try to continue the Treadth in March a bit .. ^^
Your SAK is only fully yours, when it bites you, or you opend a Trink of your joice whit it
SAKs i have: Huntsman Light (Red Transparent), Workchamp (Black), Wenger EvoGrip S557 (Red), Swisschamp XLT (Red Transparent).. Swisschamp (Blue Transparent) Cybertool L (Blue Celidor (custom scales) , Huntsman (Black Celidor) , Victorinox EvoGrip S557 (Red, but sadly lost in my house somewhere) Victorinox Delemont S17 and S57 ..  , waiting for: Swiza D09 Blue

Day 30

Tightened up a faucet handle.

[ You are not allowed to view this attachment ]

As I said the other day, I'm kind of over the Flex. It's heavy and bulky for the tool load, awkward on deployment, and I don't trust it under heavy use.

That being said, some of the implements are interesting and/or hard to get on other platforms (not a lot of fish scalers or marlin spikes on Leatherman or Gerber). And, of course, there's something to be said for making a bladeless multi to carry in certain areas. I think the Companion is the better choice for this, seems less imposing. I appreciate Roxon going there, it's the most well supported modular multi we've seen so far, but I think it needs another generation or two of development before I'd carry one over a Leatherman, SAK, etc.

Day 30
Cut open some bacon for a snack.

This was an interesting challenge.  I really do like the tool options and the versatility of the Companion.  I especially like the blade profile and the chisel, especially after sharpening the corner edge.  Although, I’m not sure how much I will use the Companion after this Challenge, because I do not like having all tools opening just to get one and it is thicker than I usually like to carry for a SAK-like tool.

Well quality wise the Roxons are not that trusty than our Swisstools or SAKs, i did use them more for Light stuff, today the Plier to bend back an bend drawing board pen,
The Toolset is also more for lightweight work, opening boxes, cutting package bands, the Knifeblade is sharp, but you see when you use an Tool that the other tools wants to fold out also, so i did decide that i will only have a few "sharp" tools on it, a Marlin Spike, an Screwdriver, or this Folding Skale want harm me ..

i keep the Plier now after the Challenge as a nice Bladeless Adittion to my Swiss Army Knife , as the only Plier Based Multitool Victorinox Offers whit an Clip is One Hand Open Blade, and Leatherman are also not an option for me because of German Knife Laws ..

So the Roxon Flex Plier is much better than not having any Plier ^^

Well, this was fun. I enjoyed everyone's pictures and tools. I mostly carried the Roxon Flex. I really like the snap when I open and close the pliers. And I like opening the tools with one hand. I carried the Flex Companion but I like the Flex much more. The Companion seems a tad inferior to the Flex quality-wise. Maybe I'll like the Companion if they update it. Anyway, thanks to all who participated and followed along. I have awarded badges to everyone I think, if you did not receive the badge let me know.
On to the next one! :salute:

Even though Victorinox only sells OHO clipped versions, the clip can be purchased separately for either the SwissTool or Spirit and attached to any version.

Ok, the Swisstool can get Clipped, but now i did decide that my EDC will contain the Huntsman in Blue whit all the Scaletools, the Minichamp Alox (still waiting for it), and the Roxon Plier because there are some Tools that where quite usefull on it like the Comp, the Marlin Spike, the Foldout Ruler, the Paketopener, the Beltcutter, and the shissel.. , and the Springloaded Plier .. , so its even though this thing is not that trustfull, its still usefull ..

The Companion is still my 1/4 Inch Bitdriver for the Backpack, but i want carry booth Flexes anymore, also because of the Flex Concept, its dosnt make any sense to carry 2 Frames anyway, more likely having the tools you need but that dont fit on your EDC Flex outside in these Toolholders..
