Day 30

Last day, I'd like to express my thanks to our host Reamerpunch for having us in this wonderful challenge.  Really enjoyed the company and the discussion about flashlight to say the least, I had been a flashlight enthusiast for the longest time and this challenge/topic is without doubt fascinating to me.


And here I'd like to post a few flashlight pics what I think could represent from the past, present and maybe future:

The HDS ultimate 60 was the first HDS I've gotten long time ago, when led tech was just started to be adopted by the industry.  It could adapt to different chemistry of battery, has good regulationj, well-built and offered multiple levels of output.  Back then, it felt like it was from the future.

Nitecore Tini2 came out couple years ago.  What impressed me most is the small lcd display showing the output level and possible runtime until the battery is depleted. 

D3AA is the latest offering from Hanklight, and I think this maybe one of the major trends for flashlight enthusiasts moving onward--the flexible choice to choose from any leds/materials/designs/features, while keeping the cost low.  What amazing about the Anduril menu is it could function as simple as a on-off light, but if you are willing to dig deeper, you could setup the light to your own habit and liking.

was out late last night but yesterday it was this dual channel DT8 with nichia 519a in 3000K on one side and osram W1 in 6000K on the other. this light is really the best of both worlds warm Floody light on one channel and bright throwy light on the other.



carried it in the top coin pocket on my jeans set in party mode and hit the dance floor with my wife it was quite a scene  :rofl:

user replaceable batteries are also a necessity for me,i have to have the option of swapping out batteries

Back home, and the A8 back with the Executive. This was my most carried light this month, and a big upgrade on any of the other keychain lights I've carried. I might pick up an A6 at some point to add GITD, or maybe I'll just put some beads or something on this one/my keys.

this was such a great challenge. loads of fun and really great to see what everyone is using and collecting  :ahhh
i'd like to thank ReamerPunch for hosting  :hatsoff:

for the last day i carried my favorite Hanklight and one that i've dubbed the "Santa Light" its a D4K with red anodizing and green auxiliary button lights with the new FFL351A emitters in a 1800K color temp. they have a super warm glow that's hard to capture with my phone camera but everytime i shine this light i can't help but get into the holiday spirit  :)








the candle light mode is really nice on this one as well



this has been a very fun challenge and i've really enjoyed seeing everyone's posts. it has been an honor to participate alongside awl of y'awl  :cheers:

i've got two new lights arriving tomorrow  :rofl: so i'll probably post a bonus day post tomorrow  :ahhh

This was a fun challenge and I learned about flashlights that I had no idea existed.  Going to have to dig into a few of them that caught my eye.

Got this LEP (laser excited phosphorus) flashlight in the mail today so thought I would share some pics. it came from the kind folks at countycomm and it's called the Maratac mini LEP cosmos. it runs on a AA (14500) battery and it's technically a laser not actually a flashlight.

it throws a narrow beam about a mile with no spill whatsoever but it still manages to have a fairly large hotspot at a distance. Oh boy I'm gonna have some fun with this one but it's definitely not a toy.  :twak:

i've been really impressed with it. There's a lot of different companies that make LEP Flashlights now. I like this one because the hotspot is relatively larger compared to other LEP that I've seen. and there is absolutely no spill it's all throw and all hotspot lol
