Going under the knife
on: August 06, 2025, 12:33:47 PM
This morning I'm having rotator cuff surgery, got several things going on that's been causing a good deal of pain. Keep me in your thoughts and prayers, I would appreciate it. I know this stuff is routine and they do it all the time, but I've never had a major surgery before. I so nervous right now it's crazy, worried about so many things right now. I'll y'all know how it went and check in a few days when I'm not so doped up.

Good luck Dave!  I'm sure it is going to go well, but there's never any harm in a little extra moral support!

The real question is, which SAK is the surgeon going to use to perform the operation?   :D

Hang in there man- you got this!

Which SAK? an explorer of course. Going to use that hook to pull the string through my tendon. 😁

All the surgeons have done this so many times on baseball and football players.  Should be good.  Better than pain and limited movement.  Prayers and best wishes.  Gary

In all the years I've known you, you could never form a coherent sentence anyways!   :D

Just kidding man, I am glad to hear you are okay!  Get some rest man, we will be here whenever you are ready.

And remember, as much as you appreciate their hard work on your shoulder, please resist the urge to high five the medical staff on the way out!   :D

Finally -  someone knows what its like to be Powernoodle.

Best wishes for a speedy recovery.  I recommend one-arm push ups using the new shoulder.  This will get you back in the game as quickly as possible.   :woohoo:

I wish I had the superhero package, that would certainly be a benefit. I'm doing ok, even with good meds I'm still in pain but that's to be expected. Thanks for the support guys I appreciate it.

Yeah I've had issues for years. I thought falling of the ladder did a lot of damaged but the doc said my injuries were there for a long time, the accident just aggravated it. It's just wear and tear and getting old I guess. Surgery went well and thankfully I'm not in too much pain. Yes I need to do this because of quality of life but I've got a grandbaby I need to be playing with with another on the way. 😁

Glad it turned out well. My Pappy definitely stayed young chasing us around and taking us fishing. I think he did more as a retiree than most people do working.
