Banzai is adorable.

I know some people think crates are mean and they can be depending on how people use them.  I also know for  some dogs they are exactly as you describe a “safe place”.  Fisher doesn’t use his crate as often now that he is older but he still sometimes uses it.  We have a soft-sided tent/crate that we take traveling so he has his own safe space despite being in a strange place.

We hired a trainer to help sort some issues with our dog, and she highly recommended a crate/cage precisely for a safe (and quiet) space. She recommended covering it with a blanket as well, though we don’t need to do that anymore. Now, TJ prefers to sleep in his cage, even though it’s probably not necessary for his calmness at this point.

D+2 (day 3)

Working on a new ironwood walking stick.
Very nice
I was wondering where my two besties landed this month!  Joined Dan’s 90 day ordeal!
I will follow along, if curious, , the last minute I joined the Combo Edge challenge

Spent most of Sunday returning BLACK type items to their designated holding zones. Then later returned to those zones to locate some of the few COMBO BLADES I do own.    :dunno: I never realized, or it has been a long time since last deployment, my two GERBER MTs sport SE blades with CE

Stay warm, snowing again in my world, so no sun.
Folk here have been threatening either BBQing a woodchuck, or stuffing into a crockpot if he called for 6 more weeks of this winter.

I hope those fools in what’s Pennsylvania, let the little guy sleep a bit longer.
I know the stay warm and really feel for people in areas that are even colder than here.  I’d be happy if it would just get above freezing with no more snow.

Day 3
Used both the can opener and knife blade in assisting with making a multilayer dip to snack on, but forgot to take a picture , so just another glamor shot

Thanks! Please do.
I bought one of the GAKs from Lithuania. Fingers crossed that it actually has a plain edge, is in good condition and the duty isn't too high. I know I can't use it in this Challenge since I already started with the '08, but in the words of Roger Waters, "I STILL WANT IT!" It will be my 4th 111.

Day 4

I knew I was going to do it.  I made two day 2 posts.  Last one should have been numbered Day 3.  I got out my bottle opener for a Topo Chico.  Big disappointment.  The bottles are screw top now.  And not glass.  I haven't had one of the things in a couple of years.
Glacial conditions persist.  Morning temps have shot up to 17F.  Maybe I should go outside barefoot?  I went out on my front porch yestiddy and swept away the snow that had blown in.  My tenny shoes melted the snow that I stepped on and turned to ice before I got back inside.  I noticed how slippery they were getting and quit.  I would like to walk to the mailbox, but that might be hazardous.  Best wishes.  G

You can find Jarritos in plastic bottles, but I prefer glass. It gives you an opportunity for MTo challenge photos. :tu:

Day 4

Breakfasting with the USCK. I used it to cut up a pączki and open up an instant coffee stick. Don't worry; I had normal coffee first thing in the morning. :D

Pierced the tamper-proof tin foil on a new bottle of nicotine lozenges. The 93mm awl works really well for this.

Our local Costco sells it in glass bottles. Also, if you have any Mexican/Latin American markets in your area they should have it in glass as well.

Trying to decide what to do with the keyring holder. I thought about taking it off, but I like that you can see that it's brass. I can just put a key ring on, but that seems kind of boring. Maybe a dangler clip? An old school cell phone decoration?

A lefty Rickenbacker bass, eh? I'd like to see a "whole body" photo of it!

I missed this! I hope your interview went well. Here's a shot of the full body, and the 'Burton Special' Seymour Duncan in the bridge. It's unbelievably grimy... I should probably clean it; I play it every day, though, so it just picks up dead skin and dog fur constantly.

Now that third pickup mod is a new one by me. That seems like it offers a lot of tonal possibilities.

I think I found my new favorite tool on the Hunter, the cutter.  It's a handy device!

Day 5

What time is it?  Yes, it is time to play Name Those Tracks.  Tonight's mystery track entries are being submitted from a resident of, uh, it says here Werecoyote Trail.  Is that for real?  Yes, what a fabulous name.  Are they werecoyote tracks, ha, ha, ha.  Notice the size and unusual spacing of these tracks.  They look legitimate instead of some sort of joke.  Our celebrity panel and the panel made up from audience members are all studying them closely.  Time starts now.  Hands on your buzzers.  Annnnnnd, name those tracks!

I've never tried that before. Sounds interesting!

Day 5

The knob/handle on this pot lid is a source of frustration for me. It always wants to shake itself loose. :crash:

For now, I grabbed a spare split ring out of my box and put on this little Megaman keychain. I think one of my buddies wanted a specific one out of the blindbox and wound up buying 5 or 6 and giving me this extra.

I haven't done a paracord lanyard in a while, maybe I'll practice dressing up Ol' Red different ways. Should be a fun little mini challenge for me.

Very nice, I don't have any experience with Gibsons, tbh. The Seymour Duncan guitar pickup in the bridge was done by Cliff Burton and I think really gave his Ric its sound on Kill 'em All and Ride the Lightning, especially in combination with overdrive, fuzz, and a wah wah. I got bored and decided to play ring toss. It's not as easy as I thought it would be.

Day 6

And, we're back with the results from our two panels on Name Those Tracks.  As always, I'm your host Bart Farkle, here with our lovely Track Girl Shelley.  Take a bow, Shelley.
Our celebrity panelists had a wide range of views on the tracks.  We had one guess for a 'heterodyne'.  Here is one for 'Carolina giant skunk which was generally thought to be extinct.'  Yeah.  That guess is a stinker.  One celebrity guest said 'maybe a cat or something.'
Our panel consisting of audience members all voted 'raccoon'.  Scoutmaster Bob came up with the initial response, and I think everyone else just agreed with him.  Now to turn to our Name Those Tracks expert, long time trapper and backwoodsman.  Name Those Tracks one and only Skinner Fred Argenbright.  Skinner Fred.  Fred, tell us what we are seeing with these tracks.
Well, hits a raccoon alright, but it was only walkin on hits hind feet like.   I think the critter was doin that cuz it was totin the pocket knife in the pitcher with the two front paws.  Critter dropped it and left it in the snow there.  Knife looks like one of them you-all do-all fureign made jobs.  Kind with can openers and gimlets and such.  Cheap things are usually red.  Somebody might have painted this one before the critter found it.
Thanks you Skinner Fred and thanks to all of our fine viewers who enjoy our show.  That's all the time we have for this week.  Viewers are welcome to send in their mystery tracks along with a 3 by 5 card with their home address so you can receive your free Home Version Name Those Tracks board game.  Until next week, keep on tracking.  Goodbye everybody.

An all-night rain took down 99% of the snow Tuesday.  Nothing but muddy, semi-frozen slush.  I took a walk yesterday.  There were a few slick spots where I had to tread lightly.  I like seeing the 111s.  One of these days I will get one.  Probably when Azamov starts their airborne porker delivery system.  I thought about driving to the store today, but I might do it tomorrow instead.  Best wishes.  G
