Hi

Here is the info i put in SwissTool plier heads topic:
Victorinox SwissTool Spirit

The Victorinox Emblem (cross and shield) was removed from the pliers head in 2010. The product images on our website have not been updated yet.

I got a picture i PDF,its to large, basially it shows that until 2010 cross and shield emblem is on, then from 2010 an interim model without emblem on plier, finally also from 2010 a change on the emblem on handle. The logo is over Victorinox and not besides, hope this makes sence?

God luck finding the interim model, picture is from the 2011 catalogue
hey finally an answer! I was a little worried I got a knockoff unit or something. Also I'd like to throw out my opinion on the scissors, I'm a big fan, I usually hold them upside down so my index finger on the lever and use them like a v cutter and just push them through material being cut, works great through poly or paper!

Hi folks,

New spirit owner here.
Love that baby.

Spirit S in BO  :multi:

Though I don't have the plus version.
I was looking to expand my Spirit's capabilities by adding more driver capabilities.
Saying that...has anyone found a way to use LM bit drivers?
I can get the Plus kit but they only offer limited number of drivers.
I love how LM drivers are dual sided and there 20 of them, giving us 40 new functions.

I would love to find other ways I can expand my Spirit's capabilities, outside of the ones I mentioned.

I use a Leatherman Universal Tool Adaptor with my Spirit , it has three positions : 45 degree , straight, and 90 degrees , uses 1/4 hex bits . Very well made and strong .

My two have proved their worth numerous times now. I still fancy something else from time to time but I don't really need anything apart from a Spirit.

The bonus with the plus set is that it's very easy to get standard hex bit either individually or as a set, and you can get all the hex bits which the LM range don't offer such as the security torx bits. If you want options the spirit plus kit offers more than the LM providing you top up with the actual bits you need. You could even go all out and buy something like THIS or THIS. Nothing against the LM driver bits, but I'm not sure you can replace them individually if you gnarl one up

They are not dual sided, unlike LM bits. It add more weight and price.
Also with small Vic sheath, it's hard to store these things and you will need to carry those things in other compartment. Loses it's compactness.

Though what I am thinking about doing is...
Buy LM molle sheath
Get the Plus kit w/ ratchet
Add in double ended bits from online or local stores

The difficult part would be finding small bit holder like LM provides. May be I can buy the Vic bit holder in bulk from felinevet...don't know if he offers that.

The advantage of 1/4 " hex bits as opposed to the Leatherman system is that they are readily available over the counter . They are available in various qualities , and lend themselves to easy customization . I normally carry the bits in an improvised wallet , and the UTA loose in the pocket . I'll try to get up a picture of my outfit .

I find that , trying to put all that stuff in the sheath is just too bulky .

As always , YMMV .

Yea that's true but if you have LM bit extender, both the standard bits and LM bits fit the extender. Just sayin.

I just hope Vic come up with more drivers. An area I would love Vic to exploit is mini/micro drivers but I bet they won't b/c then they gotta worry about cybertool sales.

I was looking to buy ratchet and bitkit only for my Spirit ( I already had wrench for my SwissTool ) and I found Spirit Plus at a great price, so I finally scored the ratchet.
Indeed great piece of equipment.

Well guys, I finally caved in and got a spirit. Went all out and got the ratchet, extension bar, corkscrew and mini driver with it. I love both my Swisstool and Swisstool X...but in comparison to the Spirit they feel like unwieldy bricks...
So I guess all in all a bittersweet day for me :-\
