Used the butterknife (first time I've used it actually) on my Spirit S to cut off the partly shredded serpentine belt for my water pump change. Went through the belt like it wasn't even there. Rest of the project on the other hand? Well I'm only halfway done and I'm already beyond the pissed off stage.

There's a kind of symmetry in using a multi to open a packet containing a multi isn't there :)

Today, I used a Vic Spirit awl to make a hole in plasterboard, then hammer in a raw plug  :P and insert a screw,

On that screw, I hung my 20th Anniversary Leatherman Wave in it's lovely display case.

Then, I held the Spirit up to the case so it could see the way the Leatherman gets the nice foam bed, while it was covered in plaster dust and had a headache, before tossing it back in the drawer.

It sucks to be a Vic in this house I tell ya :D

"This Leatherman was brought to you today with the help of Victorinox "

I reckon that Spirit is the real workhorse in your house Dave  :P  unsung hero  ;)

Dunc

Damn - rumbled ;)
I used to come here a lot.

Score one more for the Spirit. The chisel/scraper was PERFECT for removing the old water pump gasket.

I usually carry a Vic Spirit, but have been carrying a Leatherman Pulse this week for variety sake.

Today I used the Pulse to remove a plug from my wife's car's glove compartment so I could access the cabin filters.

Yesterday, I used the bottle/can opener to remove the top from a root beer bottle for my wife.  Earlier this week, I used the Pulse and a PocketWrench II to replace a rusty rivet on the mail box with a bolt and nut.  The scissors was handy for cutting out a coupon, too.

I'm not sure if the LM c301 counts as a multitool, but I used mine to break apart LEGO's today.  It worked very well.

Fixed a keyboard drawer for a coworker and adjusted my file folder box with a Skeletool and a Vic Tourist respectively. Used the Skele again to clean out a clogged up drier

Today saw (figuratively and literally) the use of my Explorer Plus to read the color bands on a resistor in my Physics lab... I still maintain the "brown" band was really red. -_-

Do you think would this tool be any good for occasional use?

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/JAXA-TYPE-WATERPROOF-3-JAW-SCREW-BACK-WATCH-CASE-OPENER_W0QQitemZ270520264866QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_Jewellery_Watches_WatchAccessories_SpareParts_SM?hash=item3efc43a8a2

mine is a copy of a jaxa sparky, so yes there great tools mate, TBH you could buy a complete set up for less than £15 including a good copy of a jaxa with it, i think i paid £20 all in for my kit,

Use a LM K503x to clean sand out of my laptop.  Damn iron sands around here get stuck to every mildly magnetic component.  LM to the rescue.

Leatherman Surge

To remove about 50 of the tags that get stapled on the end of lumber.

No other set of pliers could grab those staples firmly enough to pull them out.

Decided to carry my LM Wave via pocket clip, I didn't think it would get any use today but I was wrong. One use particular made me feel like I save the day, well my wife's anyways. Sears is closing in the town next to us and we wanted to check and see what they had on sale. She has to use the bathroom and a few mins later I am hearing her call to me from in there. I pop my head in the ladies room and ask her if she is alright. She says she needs the TP and the dispenser is not working. Somehow paper had gotten messed up and was coming off in thin strips. I asked if anyone else is in there and see what I can do. Appears the dispenser requires a key to open it, I look and scratch my head and I ended up using the Wave's large screwdriver blade (not the bit style) to pop it open and resolve the issue. Might not seem like much to some folks but when your wife is handicapped and can resolve the situation it makes you glad that your packing a trusty tool  ;)

I attempted to use my Kick screwdriver to lever some wood, and it promptly snapped off near the pivot.

More interestingly, the blade also snapped at the pivot. That seemed a little odd.

I also used the small screwdriver to undo the bolts in an old cabinet (the bolts had little holes in the side to leverage them, like a C-Spanner, my screwdriver is ground to be sort of awlish, so I was able to misuse it for the the task)

pliers to pull out a mis-placed nail.

SAK Waiter to cut make sandwiches and open a brew.
