Sorry if I missed it somewhere but why would you get a fixed pivot Pacific Salt?
The newer ones have adjustment and rounder edge clips.
My PacSalt is in my top 5 knives overall and get a lot of use.
It would be my second in one of those “you can only have two” scenarios.

I suspect I'm looking at very old stock then.......

Love the Salt 1......about 40/60 against the serrations, but this weekend it was an everything knife.  I filleted Redbreast kurper from the top down, and a whole lot else.....just need a bit more blade.

the only previous LC00N knife was the Tusk, but was a rather specific model and not a huge success in sales  :P
As shark_za says, the new models have pivots and screws to adjust tension and adapt to your need/likes, the only other big change to the Pacific is the fact that  it now has a n Endura 3 handle, but Sal says they're being updated to an E4 handle (which I don't like better) and many folks are stocking up on old Pacifics to have the previous handle shape   :gimme:

The new Salts will all be in LC200N and H1 depending on model and country of manufacture, per Sal's words   :tu:

I would settle for a Spydiechef with a plastic handle and backlock

I'm guessing your right about the price of LC200N, so the question (for me) is basically will the Pac Salt with the E4 handle have H1 in FFG...........otherwise I need to confirm that hopefully on the pic on the website is out of date, and not the stock.......

LC200N is much more new to the market and thus more expensive...give it some years   :ahhh

as for H1 FFG you won't ever get it unless you grind it yourself, and from what I've heard making a FFG H1 blade is quite a feat   :pok:

one would think that a "Sea (Salt)" knife would be blue like the sea, but this color makes much more sense...and you already have a blue Spydie!!  :tu:

 Well that bit of info has sealed the deal....I emailed my contact, if the Pac Salts the have in stock are not the riveted variety that will be my next knife.  :salute:

Watched a video last night of a guy that used files, stones and sanding paper to do a semi-convex FFG that I like.....

My Salt 1 looks a little haggard already, I took the shoulders off the top of the hollow grind, plan to take it back more, and the "H" of "H1" is missing after the polishing.......but man I love that knife.

There you see! It's not all blue knives in my fleet after all. :pok: I do like the yellow scales, it makes it a lot easier to find. I like the way it's put together too, it has a razor sharp edge on. How well do you like your salts Peacent?

well I bet you know how I like them.
Of my 14 Spydies, 12 are Salts  :D

I am admittedly careless and not really worrisome about my knives and all my life I've found rusted pivots, oxidised scales, etc.  to the point that it made me hesitate carrying knife in my pocket around hoses, plants, water and in Summer during very hot months.

The Salts solved that, and gave me long blades in slim and very lightweight package, something very important if you carry lots of other stuff during the day.
The Spydiehole was a revelation for me too, and the company itself and its philosophy made me fall in love with them.

That is why I gave my wife a Salt 1. She does not maintain or even care about maintaining her knives. She gets me wet, dirty, cuts food and just puts it back in her pocket. Many knives have been ruined by her, but the Salt 1 has solved that.
I'm the milk man!

Dumb question on my part  :D They seem like a real well put together knife, and you can't argue with the edge. I am rapidly becoming a big Spyderco fan :like: :like:

Here is my Pac Salt  Love this knife :tu: The fact that you don't have to worry about rust at all is a big draw for me and I am going to get a Salt 1 when I find one second hand for a great price :dd:
