Another (slightly damaged) tool box  ::)
A couple of model train transformers
Eliot Lucas pliers

And a very heavy grinder, man that thing is heavy!  :ahhh

I can't read the makers stamp apart from Sheffield England and on the back of the tang BR(W)  :shrug:
Nearly broke a nail opening her, needed pliers  :ahhh

If you unscrew the top you find these tiny tiny little tools  :o

If you just want to soften off the backspring, you can do it without dismantling it.

With the blade open, if you grind the outside of the backspring and spine together, you'll maintain the alignment when open, but still thin down the backspring. Gently does it though. As backsprings aren't that thick, a little metal removal can make a lot of difference.  :cheers:

It feels OK in the hand, so much so I thought it was solid at first

Chucked it up in a drill and cleaned with sand paper
Filled the crack that appeared with CA glue


After some linseed oil then a coat of handle wax  :tu:
