Is not SAK itself, but is SAK related :) Today my wife surprised me with this birthday cake....what a lovely wife I have!

I thought that was a SAK Staples (is it called Staples in the US?) Easy button.

Here are some of my latest SAKs... A Battle Of St. Jakob 1444 black Passenger, a SwissBianco Copper Alox MiniChamp, a GigaHz Spartan Lite Mod (basically made into a Passenger), and a pair of used Alox Pioneers with brass liners.

You know, those Ramblers are factory trained once sold to escape and run back to their master. One of the reasons they are sooooooo expensive :o

I would say perhaps a Mountaineer, although there are notable differences.

I just received a custom Explorer from an ebay seller. It has the emerald green Plus scales, and my brother's initials are engraved on the main blade. A Zermatt pouch also arrived for it. This'll be my brother's Christmas present from my sister and I.

I ordered a One-handed Trekker, non-serrated (OHO NS Trekker) two nights ago. I've always liked my old late 80s/early 90s Adventurer and my 07 Soldier. But missed the combination of the plain edge of the Adventurer and one-handed opening and beefy locking screwdriver of the Soldier.

My intention is to belt carry it in my old Zermatt pouch with business casual. I'm sure I'll get some snickers here in the office, and I'm also sure that phase won't last and I'll be back to something more reasonable soon, but what the heck? I'll probably also carry it on the weekends. I'll probably use the saw only bi-annually; too bad it isn't offered with scissors instead...

Me too. I like the old textured T-Phillips. I like how it was made to fit the contour of the scales. I don't like the can key feature though.

Back in the 80s, my uncle gave me a Small Tinker with black scales and that old style Phillips.

Is the Pioneer on top in the pic without ring or is just hidden in the photo? Would you show us more photos of it?

When I got it in the mail, the ring was missing. It's either hidden in the photo or it was taken before I put a ring on it. It definitely has a ring on it now though.

Thanks. I meant, not just the split ring missing (as in temporarily removed) but the whole support/liner spacer eyelet missing. The reason for this question is that there are Pioneers without rings from factory (they are smooth on that end), both new and vintage (including with brass liner).

It just did not come with the split ring. I took one off another older SAK I have. It does have the support/liner spacer eyelet, you just cannot see it in the photo. I know there are some 80's/90's (maybe earlier?) Pioneers with no eyelets, but I always thought they were just Soldiers. I bet the older Pioneers without the eyelets are more rare/collectable.

I admire your dedication. I'm not ready for that step with any of my pocket tools.

Thank you. :tu:  I feel that SAK eyelets look naked without a split ring attached. I dedicate myself to attaching a spilt ring to SAK eyelets whenever possible. I feel that it's my duty as a SAK enthusiast to do so.

If you ever muster up enough courage to take that step, you can find split rings at most hardware stores for pennies.

Seriously though... I know what you meant. It's just that there was nothing in my post that indicated I cut off or removed the whole support/liner spacer eyelet thing. Not only did I not imply that I removed the eyelet liner in my original post, but my reply to Marius's first question explained that just the ring was missing and that I added one after the fact. That is why your post is humorous.
