Welcome.  The Wave is a great platform for modding.  Can't wait to see what you come up with.

Hello All,

I've posted in other parts of the forum before, but never introduced myself, so apologies for my rudeness.  The tool that I have had the longest is actually a Cattaraugus 3-W.  It has been packed away for years and may be a sensitive subject in light of current tool disassembly status.  The next tool, that I still have, is an Elgin Alligator tool with a leather wrap and dies in a wood tray.  I'll be posting more on that in the collector's forum.  My EDC is a Gerber Suspension that was a gift.  I have had it for a number of years, and am in desperate need of a 3rd sheath.  The only upgrade is the button snap my wife added in place of the velcro.  Personally, I own a manufacturing business with my father, in Southern Oregon.  We cast our own parts in aluminum and CNC machine them to build chainsaw chain grinders.

Hi all, after years of searching for the "perfect" multitool, I finally pulled the trigger on an LM Wave+ after seeing the great mods on this forum. Might not be my perfect EDC just yet, but it seems to be the perfect foundation to customise to my needs/wants!

Hello!!
I'm hoping for some help!
I have several Multitools. I use them on a daily basis, groom opening cartons too building furniture. People have first and me why I carry a weapon .... then later all me if they can use our need help because I have it.
I have an early leatherman, a noname needle nose to multiple Swiss Army knives.
I bought a Gerber multitool in, around 2000. I bought it at an Army Navy Surplus On State St in Schenectady, NY.
I used it for many years. Broke blades and USED this thing. Then..... It feel into shadow.... Then there was sadness.... I have searched the web for second hand ones to no avail. I was unable to find a picture of it even..... Then today I found a picture. Covered on it and it has been sold..... The sadness returned.
This is the picture!!
If anyone can help me locate the model number or even have one to sell, I would be very very grateful.... The sadness would end!!
Please help me on my wrist to find the one Gerber to rule them all!!!!

Grrrrr now I can't paste the picture.
The Gerber is a 600 series with:
Loop to hang from a lanyard.
Large flat screwdriver
Small flat screwdriver with bottle opener.
Fiskars scissors.
File one side course the other side fine.
Awl with a hole in it for sewing.
One blade with a serration near the hilt.
Phillips screwdriver.
Can opener
Needle nose pliers.

Any help would be appreciated.

Well, Due to the awesome Multi Tool Encyclopedia I have figured out what I had and lost. So what I had bought in a real Army Navy Surplus (they aren't really surplus now) years ago was the predecessor to the Gerber MP600 series. It was simply called the "Scout" not the "Pro Scout" which was based on the original. Since being able to search for this I found a used one on Ebay and I am getting this for Christmas. Really hard to find one. Once again, thank you guys for your work on the Encyclopedia. Without it I would still be pulling my hair out.
The other thing is that I found one of my other multi-tools that I called "No name" and it is based on a Sheffield though says made in China so I think it is a knock off. Still wor ks though.
Thanks again and Happy Holidays!!!

Thanks SteveC for your help. That is exactly what it is. I love the combo of blades and can not wait to get one back!!

Just joined. Hello, thanks for having me.

I see all these awards people have like "Toothpick User - Start a new thread with a photo showing the Swiss Army Knife Toothpick being used in an unusual way."

Where can I find all the threads showing Swiss Army Knife toothpicks being used in an unusual way?

And where can I find all the other threads/posts that people won their awards for.

Thanks.

Hello and welcome to the forum

You could try searching the SAK forum for Toothpick badge requests. A lot of the awards are for challenges and they are in the various sub forums.

Hello All,
I have had a few sak in the past and carried a swiss tool for quite a while, until it disappeared. Anyway I am on the look out for another multitool and you lot had a few posts that perked my interest.
Cheers
Matt

Hello everyone!

I've used several Leatherman multitools over the years. I went from Rev to Surge, and finished on Wave Plus. I know, how could I have replaced the mighty Surge  ::) Just fell in love with black oxide Wave and I found the size more convenient.
For fun I am collecting Victorinox SAKs. Nothing vintage (yet  >:D), if I like it I buy it. Have to say my favourite is the Huntsman. Mainly because it was my first SAK given to me by my father in the early 2000s. Being the favourite, doesn't mean it receives the most attention. For EDC I found Climber to be the sweet spot; one layer less in a jeans pocket is noticeable.

I've been researching SAKs and Leatherman before and always ended up here, so I thought it's time to register  :)

Hello everyone.
I finally registered with the kind help of Grant, because the automated mails from the forum do not seem to reach my mail provider.
I have been lurking for quite some time, mainly in Syphs Thread (I actually read the whole 200 pages) and am interested in SAKs and SAK mods.
I own several alox models, and some 91s. The dream would be a Marlinspike model as base for a mod. Sadly 200€+ for one is out of the "user" range for me. But we'll see... :)
