E-Thizzle! You can't just post a pic of a RAK like that without any further explaination!

Is it genuine or a replica?

If it's a replica is it based on a real tool?

Where did you get it from (back garden, ebay, Rome when you travelled back in time to stop your ancestors from selling it for grain)?

Will you EDC it?

Where's the fsh scaler?
Well, the original is found at Cambridge University’s Fitzwilliam Museum
It was made of silver and iron (blade, that rust-lump in the image). There are several others found like it but none are in that great condition..

I ordered it from armillum.com
They some pretty pictures here: RAK (different originals and the replica)

 :tu: Very nice!

Are you an enactor or did it just tickle your fancy?

Will it replace your Bernina as EDC for a while?

I love that you are pushing the envelope with your EDC choices at the moment  :salute:

I do historic reenactment but medieval* (Roman is older so I will simply claim its a family heirloom). I also do Longsword fencing and dabble a bit with knife/staff/halberd.
So, yes it will be for EDC although only on special occasions.

Hope I will find time to update the Bernina thread tonight.

Sweet!
I like the family heirloom ruse - hope it works........
I have been reading a lot about medieval fighting and weaponry from Mary Gentle books (fiction but extremely well researched) - she is a Master Swordsman apparently.

Any pics of you in Medieval garb? Do you have a persona when you're renacting?

Their here! the beautiful scales came in, I must say the blue is much more of a darker tone then I thought, kinda happy I didn't go with the sapphire ones! Only problem is since we finally had some ugly weather this winter and the kids school closed, and well, I can't work on the sak's since one is his bday gift, lol.. I guess this is where the saying, can't have your cake and eat it too comes in? Mmm cake, now that sounds good

Sorry for the crappy pic, kinda had to sneak a pic so I threw it on the wife's little table and snuck a pic, if your wondering what's that on the scale it's the reflection of the inside of the lamp shade, no it's not a ufo, but those scales are like a mirror!

I've seen many of the ordinary Minis (US Pat) sell for U$30 - 40 on fleabay, but the rarer ones (BO, Cleanskin/sterile) can fetch more.  If it is NIB with doco that can also add to the price.

Toothpick is easy, you carve them from the bones of your enemies...
What worries me more is that it has no cork-screw... I mean sure, you could decapitate a bottle, but who wants to drink boiling wine

Well,

I finally got a P38 can opener. It was a little hard to find, but I finally found one with the "US Shelby CO" on evilbay for a few bucks. Glad that I finally found one. I´m really curious if that notch will also open a beer bottle, as it is just described as a can opener.

Outfitter Country, a dealer on Amazon, had marked the Leatherman Super Tool 300 down to $28 and only had one available at that price, so I got it, as I'd wanted this model for a while.
