Yes! Like the 8 for outdoors stuff but the 6 and a Camper in my bag seems good down the beach without the broomstick of the 8 in pocket?

Unfortunately thats a problem with Opinels, they feel like heck in the pocket. Great knives and they cut like the dickens, but just too bulky. The number 6 is the biggest I can carry without feeling like theres a broomstick in my pocket. Even then, my number 6 has been sanded down a bit in width and the top and bottom corners of the fishtail handle has been rounded over.

To me, I have this very old fashioned idea that a pocket knife should fit in a pocket without being obtrusive. Like large long bulges propping the question of "Is that an Opinel in your pocket or are you happy to see me?"

Don't get too serious, just enough will do.

I have this fish Opinel arriving today.
I've seen Opinels that have 3 fish on them, but never one fish.
Two questions:
1) Have any of you ever seen this design?
2) Can you tell which type of wood it is from the photo?

I sanded the notch by the nail nick, rubbed a little brown shoe polish on the sanded area.
