I'm green with envy. We need some pictures of the signed tools.  :tu: Did anyone ask Tim if he ever frequents MT.org?  What is in the black box with the handle?

J-Sews (aka Bob, the guy in the white shirt) and I met Tim Leatherman at SHOT a few years ago.  There's an amusing story around the whole thing- the meeting, the circumstances, the follow up....

There's a picture of the three of us together somewhere, but we can talk about that some other time- we don't want to steal any thunder from the current meeting!

While we did have an idea this was going to be a bit more than the standard tour, I don't think any of us realised it was going to be quite this good.  The logistics of me being on a different continent means I'm only slightly disappointed in not being there, rather than being totally devastated.

Ah well, maybe next time. ;)

I've had the pleasure of meeting Tim first hand and he's very down to earth and a really nice guy.  I'm glad all the guys who made it seem to have had a good time- of course I'm not sure how any Multitool.org member could have not had a good time there!

I can't wait for more pictures and the impressions of everyone who went!

Maybe this will help:
Juli said that Leatherman served them all lunch, and they had a private Q&A with the tool designers... >:D

Erm.  Totally devastated here.

Glad you guys had fun, I really need to go sometime and see their Factory.  I know it won't even compare to what you got to see and do, but it would suffice.

He must have these with him all the time, as he also had them at the new store opening recently:) wonder if he rolls em up and shoves em in his pocket. At any rate, "now he's ready.."... More than most:)

New unbreakable and impossible to open Clamshells???  :D

I was wondering the same but was too shy to ask. Looks like a multitool in a box..

It's a bracket that holds a multitool so you can apply greater pressure with your foot to cut harder things like nails.  As far as I know, it hasn't gone into any kind of production, but is something Tim has been working with for years and demonstrating on special occasions.  I think the last time I recall hearing about it, it was during a big to do that Tim attended in Russia.
