I order 100 foot min of cord, it's really odd how it dissapears without me knowing.

You can join two cord by melting. WARNING - this can hurt and/or burn down your house.

Place the two ends end to end and heat with a flame. When the two ends are almost dripping remove heat. Then push the two end to touch and hold until the set. With practice you can join two colours to make a bi colour bracelet.

BTW doing this was how I burnt my finger, a burning melting drop fell onto my finger, which I put under the tap straight away, but then without thinking I pulled the now solid plastic off leaving a 5mm dia hole in my skin right next to the knuckle. Hurt for weeks.

enjoy
  Sorry, I shouldn't laugh but that really tickled my funny bone. :D

Working with paracord does require a little bit of being safety conscious, especially if teaching kids some knot work.  There's the use of a sharp knife or scissors for cutting cord, using a sharp needle with thread, super glue/adhesives, as well as the use of a flame, soldering iron, or wood burning tool with melting cord ends.  Be safe, but have fun.   :D

Here's a half hitched aluminum water bottle sleeve, tied the same way I did the paracord pouch/can koozie, but spaced the hitches further apart.  I used about 30 feet of paracord to cover the 750ml bottle.

Hey Guys,

Does anyone have any ideas for adding a small strap to my new bottle, just the type you can slip your hand through to make it easier to hold?
Photo below, it's a CamelBak Podium.

You can try a jug/bottle sling knot or turks head knot around the narrow section of your bottle and make a wrist loop to your desired length...

I got a titanium bead with blue anodizing today from Chris Reeve and co. I'm not to sure how well this lanyard looks. It seems a little strange looking to me. I may make a different one using the same bead.

Used the monkey fist today,I tested how secure it would be in the pocket with keys attached.

I went on a short 6mile walk with it in my cargo pants side pocket both stayed where I placed them, the 1.1oz steel bearing acts as a counter balance for small items and at the same time makes for easy retrieval of keys/small knife deep down in the pocket  :salute: also in a pinch it would make a good Kusari to dish out some monkey fist kung if needed  ;)

I said Kusari lightly but just be careful the law doesn't interpret it a such, those are banned here in the UK  :ahhh  :D

Around 4-5 hours or so... It would have taken considerably less if I had a way of calculating beforehand how much cord I'd need, so as not having to move all of the 50' of paracord through each weave of the pouch... ::) :D

Nope, couldn't really as it would have meant taking the bottles back off my boys.  Five and seven year old boys get a little upset if you take their new school bottles off them. Especially when they get all excited 'cause their the only ones in their classes with metal ones  :-\
