You didn't by chance get a look at what they have so far for the sheath Juli mentioned for this tool did you?  If you have been sworn to secrecy I understand though. :D

Sorry, I didn't see the question.  My guess is that since this is aimed at the military they'll go with a MOLLE sheath with it.  That's just a guess though- I don't remember what they had listed for a sheath.  Bob might remember.

Not a problem. With all the excitement about the shot show it is easy to overlook.  The only bad part is having to wait for the tool.  At least the rebar will be out much earlier in the year.

It's rare that the sheaths are promoted as much as the tools, unless of course there's something special about them like the wrench in the MUT sheath.  I honestly can't remember seeing too many sheaths at the show.

The OHT does not look like a candidate for pocket carry but I must say that the rebar might just fit my watch pocket well.

I suppose that depends on your pockets.  I could see it going well enough in the thigh pockets of cargo pants, or maybe a jacket pocket.  It's really quite bulky in every dimension.

Did they have a special flyer for the OHT?  I did not notice it in the 2012 catalog on leathermanlibrary.

Nope.  As I understand it they had only decided to unveil the OHT at the show a few days before the show.  Apparently there were concerns as to whether they would have enough prototypes to actually show.

Bearing in mind that we saw prototypes, and that there may be some changes before it hits production, but to be honest, this one didn't really do much for me.  It's oversized, bulky, with teeny pliers and stubby, limited tools.

Oversized, bulky, with stubby, limited tools?

Boy, if they make the pliers bigger they will have to call it a Gerber.

I really like the tool, espacially in the BO version. Only downside, as mentioned before, is the small knive and saw. Was liking Bob's photoshop...bet the people over at Leatherman read here too...so maybe.... :D

Just did a search for some reviews in the OHT and a bing search came up with a link to Knifehog website with the sale of the oht for 69.85. Its a bad link to the site cause the page is blank. The quick description on bing listed it hit the market today. I searched leatherman oht and thats what i got.

agreed for sure.Total BS. If it were true kudos to that "shonky" knifehog site. It took a few weeks for major sites to get the rebar in stock.Hell major retail stores dont have the rebar yet.

I do wish LM would drop the whole "only full sized, 100% One Hand Opening" line.  You might be able to argue that the pliers on the Buck X-Tract aren't the biggest or the best, but I don't think you can claim the whole tool is anything less than "full sized".

Another thought on the first OHO tool claim ... what about the Gerber Grappler? I think the pliers and 3 out of the four outside tools have thumbstuds and liner locks, and from the piccies the file looks like it should OHO anyway

Am I missing something, or is it just a banal technicality that the file doesn't have a thumbstud that stops this (along with the X-Tract variations) cocking up LM's claim?

TBH I'd fogotten about the Grappler myself. :-[  It never seemed to make a huge impression on the forum.  Ironically I think the thing that seemed to annoy people was Gerber's line "first OHO locking pliers" (or words to that effect).

 Well at least they were correct in that claim  :D It is one that doesn't seem to get talked about much at all is it? Do you reckon we need to cajole Tom into getting one, and get him to review it for us?  >:D

I think the only person whose ever given it praise is Grant ... but then he is a bit odd ...

I'd still be interested to know if (and if not why not) the Grappler is a fully OHO tool though. I was looking at a pic of the OHT thinking it might be better with just four full length tools, and realised how similar to the Grappler it would be ... and that led to this  :)
