Start of next week.  My bandsaw arrived and I'm cutting up 93mm size Ti slabs right now.

Where's the like button these days?

That's great news!  I'm really looking forward to what the newly retooled Syph can do!  So many possibilities!

Is it possible to put the Electrician's blade where the Awl is (opposite the main blade) on a 93mm?

Should be, with a bit of a bend to get it to sit next to the scale.

Excellent!

Thanks for the reply. Since I'd be looking to commission Syph to do the mod (once I get the donors), it's good to know he's made it work before. :tu:

It needs a wee bend tweak but it works just fine.   :tu:

Here's a set of blue anodized ones I just finished.  Is this what you were thinking?  The insides are pocketed as well.  This is just a quick cell phone pic, they look intense blue in person.

Those are nice! :tu:

Any way to polish the cross so that it is shiny, bare Ti and the rest is anodized?

Still thinking of how to get a 'white' cross on a coloured scale. Whether with an insert of polish...

Wow!!  Those are amazing!  If that cross was polished, that'd be the ticket!  Old meets new and all that!

So, where do you want my money and how much of it?  Hah!  Just leave me enough for Top Ramen.

93mm blue anodized Ti OC goodness with a polished cross.

I'm getting closer to having my custom planned out. Still waiting on a couple of donors and to try a couple of blade styles before I finalize it.

Have you done any in Bronze anodize?

Haha ok now I better deliver.  I figured I can made a thin metal mask to protect the anodize then polish the cross.  Let me try.

Bob, I love that you post here and interact with everybody so much.  It's part of what makes your knives so amazing.  We get to watch the decision process, the trial and error, the mastery of skill.  And at the end, we get to see it all come together into something gorgeous and functional.  It makes us feel like conspirators in the creation of something great.  Like DaVinci asking the people at the local tavern for input on the Mona Lisa.  That bit of personal investment we feel (at least I feel) at being part of the process makes the end result much more personal.  Thank you for sharing your process with us.

Now let's see that polished OC!!

Wow! Just, wow! :ahhh

Those look beautiful!

Any chance you can do a set in Bronze anodize to show off? I'm torn between blue and bronze. I may have to go with a different colour on both sides.

I have waited so long for that which you have made.  There was a time I toyed around with CAD and having a machine shop make some and then the whole anodizing process, etc.  What you and your machines have produced is exactly what I envisioned at the start.  It looks amazing!

So, do you want to sell that beautiful set of scales to me?  Please say yes!

I was always terrible at hiding my excitement.

Looks awesome !!!

I was wondering is the cross placed slightly higher on your scales compared to an original or is it just an illusion due to the holes being bigger ?

All I have to compare it to are some photos of an OC I cleaned up, but they look similarly positioned.  Maybe just a hair higher.  The inner cross corners also look slightly more square on the original OC.

Is it possible to put the Electrician's blade where the Awl is (opposite the main blade) on a 93mm?

Here's my EDC & favourite ever SAK which was made by Syph007
