So do i :) Not that i have anything against red ones, i've seen some great looking knives with them but i prefer the black in this case :)

Cheers :) There are a few little imperfections on it that you can't see in the pics but i think they were caused by the tang not being perfectly flat :-\ Just bits where you can see the epoxy between the tang and the wood, nothing major though, a bit of black marker will soon get rid of that :D

As for naming it, i hadn't even though of doing that! Suggestions are more than welcome :)

hmm a knife should have a manly name, no foofy names, it's a knife!
but overly macho is silly too, your not a teen trying to impress a girl (well not here!)
it's something you made, even in part so it should be special to you.

LOL.  I didn't say it, but it's certainly what I was thinking.  ;)

It's coming along great, BTW.  What type of shape are you going to go for?  Will it have some finger grooves?

There's always one :D Thanks; it's quite cool looking back over some of the pics and seeing how its developed :) Shape, yes, ermm i'm not entirely sure at the moment i need to think about it a bit. Finger grooves were suggested by my housemate too, but i don't really like the looks of them on other knives so i don't know :-\

Great work with rounding that off mate!  :)

Cheers dude :)

Damn that was quick!  :o

Thanks for the pics, seeing it in the hand makes it look less "chunky" that I originally thought.

I like a lot!  :)

Yeah the pics do seem to make it look a bit bigger than it is. Does fill the hand quite nicely though, and i could leave it as it is and it wouldn't be too bad to use but with some shaping it should be pretty comfy :)

As for the speed of the pics, I've got it down to a fine art ;)

Hey, I wear glasses and can't read that itty bitty print, OK?

The knife is starting to look great Roadie.   Very nice work so far.   I didn't realize it was that big.   It's going to be quite a chopper!

Well i've got a shape i'm quite happy with for the handle, and its not actually much different from what it was yesterday, simply got smooth edges now :)

Needs a bit of touching up in places to make it a bit more symmetrical but overall i'm quite happy with it :)
