Didn't you already post that 2 month ago on your personal blog?

I don't like to offend you, but posting similar scale exchanges (using the same technique) of standard knifes just with different woods is a bit boring imho. Just compared to other entries in this topic.

Already did and allways will do, if there's something new.

But my next projects will be variations of existing techniques I already posted (e.g. a Victorinox Compact with olive wood plus scales and exposed rivets for a friend of mine or a Explorer with file, a cybertool bit driver and watch case opener as a EDC for my dad with ebony plus scales with exposed rivets).

I don't think, that these 2 future knifes are exciting news or real show offs like a 84mm Golfer with a hook with nailfile.  :)

Wow there, all SAK mods, big or small, are very welcome in this thread.  Be they scale swaps, tool mods, layer mods or total rebuilds, every single one belongs here.

+1
When I first joined this site I asked if rubbing down the handle on my Svord was a 'mod' ? I was told yes its a modification to the original tool
So 'just' changing the scales is definitely a Mod and that should be praised, some of us want to do/see the 'easier'  MODs  :tu:

I also like too see how different woods look on a knife, Mto is almost a woodworkers reference library

Agreed Tony, it doesn't matter what the mod is, sharing it all is the purpose of this whole subforum :tu:

Some people specialize in rescaling mods. And I love to see those just as much as I like seeing different tool combo mods. Especially if done as well as this one. Keep up the good work, Chris. :tu:

Noble knife it is. I don't like wooden handles for hygiene and maintenace reasons but some are beautiful nonwithstanding.

Now is a good time to say that one of the various reasons I joined MTO was because I wanted to see how I can enhance my grip on the swiss delights I got and maybe find out more on Micarta scales.

Since is a product is customised, be it embellishing or completely re-structuring a tool, that counts as a mod I think. Some are more substantial than others and even that is debatable  ;)

But you do it so well. :D I must have linked that Dovo "Executive" a half a dozen times already.

Anyone have a new mod. I might have to make a mod myself just to get this thread back on topic. And I'm not very good at it.

My point is, most of his knifes seem to be done some time ago. But he is frequently posting one wood after the other with some time between his posts.

He could have posted all woods together.

However it seems, that I'm the only one, who has an issue with that... ;)

But maybe you enjoy a 111mm serrated blade with liner lock. ;)

(Background, I used my modified Hunter XT last camping trip and was very disappointed of using my main blade. The One hand rescue blade stinged into my hand, it was very uncomfortable. So I decided to exchange it.)

The tool configuration now is nearly a One Hand Fireman. But with a plain edge Main Blade and saw and serrated blade exchanged.

@ all: Thank you all for your positive feedback and your commentaries. They are highly appreciated  :2tu:

@ HankSolon: Sorry for annoying you with my posts. But I just love rescaling SAKs with fine woods. And because of all the positive feedback I got so far ^^ I think I will continue posting pictures here from time to time. But due to your criticism I will step up efforts to entertain you with tool-combo-mods in the future  :)

Best regards,

Chris

Nice one. Criticism is not allways negative and you took it sportingly.
I understand your love for wood maybe much more than others.  :D

Cheers,

The Hunter is really, really, really ready now.....  :D

It's gone so much rebuilds now, I can't remember how much I have done.... But after all these iterations for me it is the most useful knife for camping now...

:) I really thought about it, but currently I have only tools for one additional knife left.

Furthermore, getting a serrated rescue blade is quite expensive....
