Quote from: Etherealicer on September 26, 2014, 02:54:30 PMActually, the Wenger can-opener is a real handicap, as it results in no small screw-driver.Sand down the tip of the Wenger nail file just a tad and it works fine as both a Phillips and a small flat-head screwdriver. I've done this on all my Wenger EDC SACs and it's just as effective as the screwdriver on the end of the Victorinox can opener.
Actually, the Wenger can-opener is a real handicap, as it results in no small screw-driver.
I just tried the Crack Carry method for 24 hours with my Classic SD, and now I can't find it. Should I see a doctor?

Hardly a challenge if people are going to carry backup stuff.
Quote from: zoidberg on September 28, 2014, 04:39:43 AMHardly a challenge if people are going to carry backup stuff. Do these count?
Quote from: zoidberg on September 28, 2014, 04:39:43 AMHardly a challenge if people are going to carry backup stuff. Honestly, it will be a challenge for me regardless of the MT factor. I wouldn't be using any SAK for pliers, so it won't factor in much at all. I rely on my Rogueneer for pretty much anything I encounter with the exception of the pliers obviously. I will be attempting to rely on the Compact for all other tasks, and it's the only minimalist SAK with scissors, which is something I've gotta have, especially since my wife asks to use scissors rather regularly...

I'm definitely in - I'm going from a 5 layer Explorer with wood saw to a Wenger SI.I guess I'll have to ditch my P4 for the duration as well?I'm also tying this in with a 30 days without sweets - I've started a new job and people keep buying me chocolates and it's starting to show!
I'm going to try to make it with just the Esquire that Aloha so kindly gifted me, however I will need to keep pliers on stand-by for the jobs where that is simply a requirement. What's the idea? Do we report back here with daily updates? On the first everyone should post in a row which SAK they'll be using so there's an uninterrupted list.
I don't want to sound like I'm applying for membership of the OCD Squad, but, what are our choices for the challenge?
Quote from: kirk13 on September 28, 2014, 05:30:15 PMI don't want to sound like I'm applying for membership of the OCD Squad, but, what are our choices for the challenge?Do you mean choices as far as SAKs? I originally was thinking we would pick one type and everyone use that, but it would necessarily limit the # of participants, since not everyone would have that particular knife or be able/willing to buy one.So I think it is better to leave it to the individual to decide what would be a challenge. My opinion is that anything over 2 layers is probably not very challenging, but that may just be me.For me even 2 layers isn't a challenge, since its what I EDC, so I'm trying to procure a Bantam.Hope that helps.
